This is my last photograph from my hand series. It was part of a school project and I needed to have a certain amount of photographs and well I was struggling to fill in that last spot. So this was a little experiment. I found a pane of glass, painted my hand with red paint, a flashlight and well this was the result.  This print and other products can be purchased  here  and here .                                            Etsy             Instagram             Twitter             Redbubble             Zazzle

Two Days in Tucson

Image
Continuing with our winter trip to Arizona. For those who are new here, we started our trip in   Page   then headed to   Vegas . We took a day trip to   Valley of Fire   and then went to the beautiful city of   Sedona . On our  way to Tucson we made a quick stop at Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch .  After checking in to our hotel and taking a little break we headed out to downtown Tucson, we didn't even park.. we drove around but didn't seem bustling with activity or people.. Next we headed to 4th ave in the Historic District. It was a fun street with lots of shops, a bit on the sketchy side but nothing dangerous. We checked out some of the thrift stores until it was time for dinner.  We ate at El Charro Cafe, founded in 1922, is the oldest Mexican restaurant in Tucson; the original owner, Monica Flin, is said to have invented the chimichanga.   Everything was so good! The next day after a quick hotel breakfast we visite...

Another hand photograph from the archives. In South Asia, on joyous occasions like weddings we purchase garlands made of rose and place them around the necks of the happy couple. There are different types of garlands made for different occasions. This photograph is off a man's hands as he is threading roses onto a string onto thread.  This print can be purchased  here .                                                                   Etsy             Instagram             Twitter             Redbubble             Zazzle

Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch

Continuing with our winter trip to Arizona. For those who are new here, we started our trip in Page then headed to Vegas . We took a day trip to Valley of Fire and then went to the beautiful city of Sedona . We are now headed to Tucson but before we get there we made a little stop on the way at Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch. It was 3 hours from Sedona and an hour away from Tucson. Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch is a three generation family owned and operated working ostrich ranch. They have been open to the public since 1999 when it was just the ostrich to feed. Now joining the ostrich are Miniature Sicilian Donkeys, Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Fallow Deer, Peking Ducks, Boer Goats, and the all-time favorite Rainbow Lorikeets.    It is $12 per person, all animal feed is included. There is an extra $3 to feed the sting ray. We skipped the sting rays.  The ostrich were super aggressive. If you didn't hold on tight they'd steal the whole cup. Here's a video ...

Two Days in Sedona, Arizona

Image
And we are going back to our winter break in Arizona. For a quick recap we started our trip in Page then headed to Vegas . We took a day trip to Valley of Fire and are now on our way back to Arizona, to the beautiful city of Sedona.                           We took a five hour drive from Vegas to Sedona and drove straight to Bell Rock for our first hike. I had initially planned on walking the 3.6 mile Courthouse Butte/Bell Rock loop but we weren't going to be able to wrap it up by sundown and my kids were more interested in climbing than walking. We paid the Red Rock Pass in the parking lot $5 or you can park for free in you have the America the Beautiful pass. Then we climbed. You can check out the reel here.  The best thing about Bell Rock is that you can make it as challenging as you like. You can walk a couple minutes to its base and soak in the beauty or you can climb a part of it. The higher you get the...
