I am a bad mom. When my daughter, who cut class on a regular basis in high school, was telling me about lecturing her daughters on why they cannot cut class in high school, I had to say "The irony of this moment is not lost on me." At least I did not roll on the floor in hysterical laughter. And she did admit that I was right.

What?!
It's only 2 weeks until Thanksgiving! How did that sneak up on me? We will have 9 adults and 9 children if things go according to plan. 2020 was a scaled back Thanksgiving due to Covid, 2021 Thanksgiving we had Covid and last year was the Influenza Thanksgiving, so we haven't all gotten together for over 3 years. Hopefully everyone will be well this time and we can enjoy a house full of wonderful family.
I've been fighting my lower back and right knee this summer and fall, and I guess time got away from me. I have an appointment with my doctor next week, but I have a feeling it's arthritis. Lose weight, maybe PT and possibly a prescription are what I expect to hear. Guess that's what I get for getting old!

Home Sweet Home
We had a wonderful trip, and saw and did a lot of great things, but the best part was visiting with family that we don't get to see very often. Our niece and nephew and their children live in the Charleston, SC are and it was so good to spend a few days with them while we were there. Our sister-in-law (who is the sister I never had, but always wanted) was also there, so we really had a great time!
However, as great as it was, there is truly no place like home. We drove straight through from Memphis, TN to the Fort Worth area yesterday and it felt so good to sleep in our own bed and put our feet up in our recliners and just veg this morning with our coffee and tea. Even though it is supposed to be 92 degrees for a high tomorrow, I'm still glad to be back! (We seem to be running about a month behind on the weather here.) We're getting ready to drive over to our daughter's and see her and our local grands. We need to hug their necks!
