A nice Sunday is in progress across Alabama. Expect showers and a little thunder tomorrow, with a return to fair weather Tuesday. But showers and storms on Wednesday could be strong over South Alabama.
Severe storms are possible today in areas to our northwest, but we will only see much weaker storms early tomorrow. Stronger storms are possible late Wednesday into Thursday.
The fog has lifted and dissipated, and we are enjoying what we call “chamber of commerce” weather across Central Alabama as we have crossed over into the midday hour. Skies are sunny and temperatures have climbed into the mid-60s to the lower 70s.
A nice and mild Saturday with sunny skies will be followed by a warmer Sunday with increasing clouds. The Storm Prediction Center has adjusted the severe risk for Wednesday. Who remains in the risk area?
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for much of Central Alabama and for all of North Alabama until 9 am this morning. Be sure to slow down and use your low beams if driving this morning, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
SEVERE CLEAR: Nothing but sunshine across Alabama this afternoon other than a few cirrus streaks. Temperatures are mostly in the 70s over North Alabama, with low 80s over some of the southern counties. Tonight will be clear and cool with a low in the 45-52 degree range.
After the cold front and showers moved through the area during the late-night and predawn hours, your Friday has turned out to be really nice, with only a few thin high clouds floating over the northern parts of the area.
