BERJAYAIci à Paris is the model for the flame for the torch of the Statue of Liberty. It is located on Avenue New York at Pont d'Alma. Just as we Américains should not take our liberty for granted, we should not forget the Statue of Liberty is a gift from France.

«Louis» took this photo when he lived in Paris. It was raining that night, and the raindrops refracted the light in the shot.

A model for the flame--very interesting! After my Shabbat morning coffee takes effect, I'll go to your links too.
And thanks, Louis, you just solved the problem of what I could post for the 4th of July. Jerusalem has a Statue of Liberty (of sorts) as well. Come back later to see her.

Have a free and thankful Independence Day!

That's fascinating. First time I've heard of it.

Happy Fourth of July to you and Mme La Vache!

Does she still cringe from that? :D

This is all true, Louis. Lovely photo and I think a timely reminder of the fact that the Statue of Liberty was indeed a French gift...but even more than that, it is very likely that the War for Independence would have been lost if it weren't for the French soldiers/sailors and General LaSalle!
