Interview & beers

February 27th, 2009

It’d be soon 2 weeks that a few expats met with Paula, a journalist from La Nacion, to discuss our view on Argentina/Porteños. Jackson and Erika, Americans, from Chicago, in Buenos Aires for 8 months, Yanki Mike, American who’s been living in BA for 5 years, and myself, in BA for 4 years now. We discussed for quite a long time, all sharing interesting points of view, and having at times different views/opinions of the city and what it takes to live in Buenos Aires.

A bit of Hsian Ting Tang

February 25th, 2009

Hsian Ting Tang stands out in the Chinese barrio, but very few people know it. It’s about $5 pesos (average) more expensive than the other Chinese restaurants in the same area, but the food is more delicate, the rice’s aroma is way more flavored. All the dishes are meticulously prepared - the owner went to Taiwan improving the culinary art; and from what I read the dishes’ recipes come from their great-great-grandparents.

February 8th, 2009

Quiet night on the Avenida 9 de Julio. Taken yesterday night around 10.30pm, when the weather was around 24°C [75° F], perfect conditions for a Saturday night.

Stolen shot

February 3rd, 2009

Buenos Aires also celebrated the Chinese New Year over a week ago. As always, it attracted LOTS of people (locals and tourists) gathered around literally one block. Picture is not mine, credits go to the newspaper La Nacion.
