Mythbuster fans rejoice! The producers of Mythbusters have a brand new show, Prototype This! It will air on October 15th. The show will focus on the design and construction of cutting edge robots and gadgets.
Expect more of the same Mythbuster-type adventures from the four hosts of the show. These guys are pretty smart too. Take all their science degrees, special effects experience and all-around uber-nerdiness, mix well with some Astrolite G and enjoy the show! Should be fun.

Have a gander at the new Lara Croft, Alison Carroll. She’s the model for the upcoming game Tomb Raider: Underworld.
heard about this from Gorillamask.net

Scientists recently found a huge sprocket during an excavation approaching the center of the Earth. The device appeared to be part of a larger core system. This system immediately halted once the sprocket was removed, leading one scientist to say “Awww ****”.
The now halted system is hypothesized as the sole force that keeps the world rotating. Without it, the world will slowly stop spinning.. and we will perish.
Ok the pic is really from a set of images of the Large Hadron Collider. Science is beautiful!
Stargate - Continuum was released yesterday, July 29th. Like Ark of Truth, this straight-to-DVD movie will not dissapoint Stargate fans.
Ba’al pulls the ol’ go-back-in-time-to-mess-with-history plan. It’s up to SG-1 to put a stop to his shenanigans.
The “fix the timeline” cliche’ plotline has been used before. Regardless, this is a great movie. There’s quite a few WTF moments.
If you’re a fan of the series, this is a “must own”.
DVD features
Audio commentary - Executive Producer/Writer Brad Wright and Director Martin Wood
The Making of Stargate Continuum documentary
Stargate Goes To The Arctic - what it’s like to shoot in the Arctic
The Layman’s Guide to Time Travel

George Denis Patrick Carlin died of heart failure yesterday. He was 71.
(May 12, 1937 – June 22, 2008)
Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television
Carlin was best known for his routine “Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television,” which appeared in 1972’s “Class Clown” album.
When Carlin uttered all seven at a show in Milwaukee in 1972, he was arrested for disturbing the peace, the AP reported. The comedy sketch prompted a landmark indecency case after WBAI-FM radio aired it in 1973.
The case was appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court where the justices ruled on a 5-to-4 vote that the sketch was “indecent but not obscene,” giving the FCC broad leeway to determine what constituted indecency on
“So my name is a footnote in American legal history, which I’m perversely kind of proud of,” Carlin said. “In the context of that era, it was daring.”
“It just sounds like a very self-serving kind of word. I don’t want to go around describing myself as a ‘groundbreaker’ or a ‘difference-maker’ because I’m not and I wasn’t,” he said. “But I contributed to people who were saying things that weren’t supposed to be said.”

In anticipation of Spore’s release, Electronic Arts has released it’s creature creator.
It’s not the full game, but it’s still lots of fun! Mold a viable organism designed to thrive or make something completely ridiculous! You’re only limited by your imagination.
This is a great tool the whole family can enjoy. Your creations can be shared online with others. Hundreds of thousands of wacky animals are being uploaded every day!
This creature creator is the precursor to the Spore game. The full game will have your own creations competing with creatures others have created. Survival of the coolest!
