Answer me this: If all that you have is taken away from you, all possessions and all relationships and all knowledge and all intelligence and all achievement (and they can be taken away, and they will be taken away, for they are transient), what will you have left? When your mind and body fail you and your wealth and comfort are taken away, what will there be?
"That which you have will save you if you bring it forth from yourselves. That which you do not have within you will kill you if you do not have it within you." |

|
| [ | mood |
| | contemplative | ] | I so often find myself confronted and frustrated by this mentality that religious myth is all a fairy-tale invented by something inferior to the rational mind. Why has the word "myth" been taken, in our culture, to indicate a lie? On the contrary, myth is the truth. It is not truth in the literal sense (as in, it is true that I am writing a journal entry right now), but in the eternal and transcendental sense. A myth is an immortal truth. It is a human attempt to present the intangible in a tangible way.
"Truth did not come into the world naked, but it came in types and images. The world will not receive truth in any other way. There is a rebirth and an image of rebirth. It is certainly necessary to be born again through the image."
I feel so like a fish out of water in this strange time, devoid of meaning as it often feels, and my solace lies with writings that are so many thousands of years old...

I suppose it will be a good tool for documenting my poems, my astrology writing, my drawings and my photography. So, henceforth, I will begin again. |
