Made more shirts!
Here are a couple of shirts you guys might like. While I don't have any tutorials to post, I am happy to answer any questions about a specific part of the process. |

Perhaps not so unusual?
Dear Rocket T-shirt Surgery patrons: For years I have had this T-shirt that I've wanted to wear out clubbing, but it didn't fit properly. I knew what I wanted to do with it, but the material is not the highest of quality and the shirt itself is nigh irreplaceable now. So, if I messed up in my experiment, I would be a sad SPOOn. Unfortunately I seem to have the opposite problem that most TSS techniques solve: My shirt is too small and I would like it to be bigger. I've already taken all of the seams out in hopes that I could put in Fishnet panels and sleeves, but as I was pinning that together I realized it would not be the best fix. I considered Tshirt panels, but again the material in question is quite chinsy compared to the fabric I have. ( Picture of said shirtCollapse )So... What would you do? Thanks for your time! NEWB OK so I've been lurkin a LOOOOONG while. I have finally joined up. So Hi! I am glad to be out of the shadows! I am so technologically retarded, it isn't funny. So, if I do something that upsets you, please be nice! Anyway I wanted to show you my new top! Here are my wings! They are detachable, so I can clip them to my bra strap and wear them with a scooped back tank! For some reason, they don't sell grommet tape in bright green, so I had to hand insert all the grommets the old fashioned way. With a GIANT MALLET!

I'm new!
Ah! Okay... i do everything by hand... so i tend to cheat a little and it doesn't always come out to good. I'm sort of against modified tshirts... but i made a bag once. It came out out cute. I took an old band tee and cut it along the sides and shoulders so the sleves were off, and i was left with two completely unattached squares of fabric Sew the bottoms together... Then sew buttons, and cut holes along the sides so that you can button it up... use lots of funky buttons that are all different sizes and don't exactly match... Sew on funky straps. :] It's frickin awesome. |

tons of tshirts, no sewing machine! *lame*
first time poster... i have a issue on my hands... i have tons of (like 30+) t-shirts in my closet that i don't wear anymore (i went working a "mall" job to a "professional" office job) but i would like to do things to/with but since i don't have a sewing machine, it makes it tough/ long to do a project of any kind. does anyone have any ideas for easy hand sewing re-con ideas? i don't want to trash these shirts but putting them up on craigslist or ebay might be the end route. thanks a bunch. x-posted |

First project, I'm quite proud.
It's a pretty basic one. Cut off the neck, sleeves, as well as trim the sides and sew it together again. I cut up a shirt that was way too big on me and made it fit my sister. ( Teh picsCollapse )She's very happy with it. |
