tqc_anon's Christmas/General Winter Holiday Swap Thing

Here is how this secret-Santa-type event will go:
1. You read the rules below.

2. You join the comm, wait to be approved (membership is moderated so that we don't end up with creepy socks all over the place being creepy), FILL OUT THE APPLICATION.

3. You wait about a week or so, and then you receive from sentimentation the name and address and details of your randomly assigned swap partner. DON'T TELL THEM WHO YOU ARE because just because you got their name doesn't mean they got your name, you dig?

4. You go out and purchase stuff for your partner. The spending limit is $15-20 USD.

5. You mail your partner their stuff. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT STEP AND IF YOU DON'T DO IT THE WHOLE THING GOES TO PIECES.

6. You, hopefully, receive your stuff from whoever got your name!

7. You post pictures of that stuff in the comm and everyone will ooh and aah and be impressed at how successful this whole thing was.

Now, the rules:

• SEND SOMETHING TO THE PERSON WHOSE NAME YOU'RE GIVEN. If you don't, you'll be banned and shunned and no one will like you anymore. And someone's Christmas will be ruined.
  
• By agreeing to do this, you're basically giving out your address to someone on the internet. Be careful. Use a PO box if you can, or a business address, or general delivery* or something.
  
• Signups will close on NOVEMBER 15th so make sure you fill out the little application thing (coming soon) before then.
  
• Get a tracking number thing for your package.
  
• You don't have to send a physical object. LJ paid time, or any other kind of electronic gift is totally cool.
  
• Follow the rules and don't be an asshole.
  

*For those of you who do not want to give out your address to some random person from the comm, general delivery might be an option--give your local post office a call and see whether they can work that out for you.
