Oh, Berghain...?

Fuck you, Thimotée Chalamet. You were good in one movie because we thought that Armie Hammer was fucking you. So shut your whore mouth and go back to your plastic dirty dumb reality rich bitch for a hug. She’ll dump you when the next rapper comes along with another Ferrari. Keep opera and ballet out of any discussions you may have in the future. You are nothing but a fuck boy demon twink whose name has tricked people into believing your cosplay as a sensitive theater kid.

This is art.

That's all.

XOXO

P. S. Full disclosure, I am a ballet and opera gay. I don’t go often anymore cause I don’t go to the city as much as I used to, but I dated someone from the Lyric and hung around with the ballet gays in Pittsburgh a they are my people. Get bent, Thimothée.

P. P. S.

First . . . . . . OH. MY. GAWDESS. I have not heard of Rosalia or this song or seen these videos before. I LOVE THEM! What a stunning, perfect fusion of the passion of opera and orchestral musical art with modern sensibilities and art forms. Thanks so much for posting this, Sixpence. You've made my day and my entire week so far! (And I just ordered her album "Lux.")

    Secondly, yes, fuck Timothée Chalamet.

      You're welcome!!!
Rosalía's latest is fabulous. She sings in several languages and the album is inspired by fantastic women. Recommend. Her previous one is super danceable and in heavy rotation in my playlists. Her voice changes like the wind and she's beautiful.
      Timmy is a dick.

    Big says,
Excuse me for disagreeing with all the hate and shade being thrown. Read the NYT Op-Ed about his statement and you just may change your mind. Of course, Opera and Ballet are viable --- always will be. Just as Broadway is still viable despite the shade of "the theatre is dead" bullshit bandied about as recently as 2020's COVID closures (when new shows were canceled altogether). He doesn't hate opera, he doesn't hate ballet. In fact, his entire family has quite the history in both music and dance.

      Oh, I heard him myself.
I saw how he looked for approval after he spewed his stupid nonsense. At a university!! Coming from a family of ballet dancers! He graduated from a performing arts school in New York!
He's just another dude bro mansplaining something he has said before (in 2019 while on press junkets he said basically the same, this is not new). He's only interested in banging stupid bimbos and making money. Not surprising, but he fooled a ton of people with his theater kid persona.
He's not THAT good. He let the mask slip.
And he didn't get the Oscar. I cackled because he REALLY really wanted it.

Yep. There ya go --- for him, it's all about the money. That's why he wants that coveted statue --- to raise his paycheck.

And still, he did NOT have to be such a dick. At all.
Fuck Shallowmet. I'm glad this demon twink did not get the Oscar for his ping pong movie AND got to be dragged for his comments.

There's definitely a stigma attached to Opera and ballet, I think people don't because their afraid they won't understand it. But you don't have to understand it. The performance and music alone by such experienced artist that can express the music is all you need to see. And the music is often so moving that it stirs many emotions. I have been to several of both and did not pay a fortune at all.

I never could stand Thimothee Chalamet. What the alarm is I'll never understand.

They are considered elitists, but I have been to both on a very tight budget. If you want to go, you don't have to be first row. I prefer the nosebleed seats, TBH.
Both make me feel even though I don't understand the language or the complexity of the movements. When someone does something so obviously difficult appear effortless, I know I'm in front of something awesome.
I liked the idea of Ernie fucking Chalamet, though...

Timothée got whipped at the Oscars, smug little bitch. My favorite line about his ridiculous statement was that in 500 years people will still be talking opera and ballet and no one will speak Chalamet.

      Hahaha He did!
I think Michael Jordan's work was superior, anyway. Shallowmet went in thinking it was gonna be a Golden Globes repeat. Not.
People in 500 years will still be talking about opera and ballet. That is true.

    HuntleyBiGuy:
As someone pointed out in all the noise about his comments, opera and ballet will continue to use artists, while most film will be taken over by AI, thus making Timothéé (more?) irrelevant.

I’ve never really found this stick figure interesting.

      I heard that too.
Shallowmet does not understand that he could be replaced by AI at any time. All they need is a screen capture and any unknown can be him. Opera and ballet need to be seen live.

    Chalamet est un imbécile !
En France, nous vénérons les arts.
Nijinski et Noureev du ballet, et Chaliapine et Callas de l’opéra ont honoré nos théâtres de leur présence :)

      I agree.
He's a stupid dude bro masquerading as a theater kid. In Europe, people can appreciate the arts (that second video is Rosalía (with a little bit of help from Bjork during the Brit awards). Ballet and opera have been around for 500 years. Timmy will be on our screens for less than ten, if we're lucky.

I'll watch some dance, but opera? I got sick as a dog at La Boehme and have disliked opera ever since. And Timmy? He doesn't chose roles because he finds the characters interesting, he chooses them because he thinks they'll win him an Oscar.

      I like them both.
I think technically, ballet is much more difficult. You need to be an athlete. Opera requires talent and aptitude and a prodigious memory. And acting chops.
Timmy just wants money. Minus those fourteen cents he says he's missing. He's a dick.

Te has (y lo has) despachado a gusto. A veces ser guapo no basta... Merecido el zasca... Y Rosalía, una estrella de las grandes. Un abrazo mana, desde el otro lado del océano.
