Notes: Title a slight bowdlerisation of lines from One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey
Summary: Kesey and Kerouac haunt their steps, make them force themselves to whisper soft words at night, to keep each other close.  These are their prayers, their hymns, their gods, the only people who know their hardships, their troubles, their depth of feeling, and can express it in words: young and desperately miserable in the Southwest, where it is impossible to be one without the other.

All that matters is that it was true.

Summary: Roxas wonders whether being in love is enough.

A/N: I don’t have much to say here, except. Except, this is me, a part of it? It’s personal and it hurts. I’m sorry, Axel, Roxas. But the lines were flowing into my mind, into my fingers, and I needed to write this. It was natural for me to write this and it hasn’t been in a long time. The language is not pretty, is not extraordinary, there are no tricks or metaphors or anything. Nothing. It’s simple, it is what it is. I wouldn’t have had it another way. I’m grateful that it came to me like it did, maybe I can sleep now. Any grammar/tense errors or anything you find are my own fault, this hasn't been beta-ed and I've written it at 3 am, so... I'll check on it later again, I guess. Bad joke: English isn't my native tongue so I can be forgiven, right? Haha, I'm a sucker.

I hope I don't get punted for this, but recently BERJAYAevershadowangel  and I have started an AkuRoku community dedicated to solely fanfiction (only the best of it), be it a specific or generic request, or even recs. We are currently trying to give it more coverage so please, help us. Here it is BERJAYAdestiny_flames.

I love that guy too much for my own good. He's RAWR. And the fanfiction... if you haven't read it yet, I implore you to do so. If you miss it, it's your own fault. It's utterly, utterly perfect.

About the picture: my first coloured one. I actually wanted to leave it as a scrap, but I couldn't, so I tried it like this. It seems... pretty decent, I think. Has taken me long enough with that shit anyway D: I have absolutely NO patience when it comes to such things. This is why I hate colouring anyway. But I like the lineart at least... I love his hair! And forgive me if the mouth or the tongue have gotten all weird but it's the first time I've ever drawn a tongue, har har.

Criticism is appreciated! And comments anyway. And go have a look! The picture really is not that bad. I'm quite proud of it.
