Of Apes and Men

Paul Hornschemeier

On this weeks show we ask is Marvel Apes really the missing link? Can the cops in Gotham Central really look after the city better than you know who? How many cat observations can Jeffrey Brown make in Cat Getting Out of a Bag and Other Observations? Can anyone really pronouce Let Us Be Perfectly Clear creator Paul Hornschemeiers name?  Will Humprey Bogart be in Marvel Noir? Why do we keep saying the new superhero sitcom No Heroics is on BBC3 when it’s on ITV? And how can we save the Irish comics scene from an ugly death? Download now and breath a sigh of relief as we answer all these questions and more.

BERJAYA

Boil the kettle and crank up the speakers cause this weeks Comic Cast is audio dynamite. We brave the Irish comic-book shelves again to discuss home-bred comics including Greg O’Briens Ghost of a Doubt issue 1, Damien Flood’s Knocked Up Nikki issue 1 and John Cashin’s Still Born issue 3. We talk about Geoff Johns and Richard Donner’s Superman: Last Son in 3D, Japanese cartoonist Tori Miki’s Anywhere But Here, the rather awesome Spiderman Loves Mary-Jane comic, Chris Claremont’s 1980’s series Kitty Pryde and Wolverine and the works of Norwegian cartoonist Jason. And if that weren’t enough, we also squeeze in our thoughts on two Mike Mignola screen outings – HellBoy II: The Golden Army (BIG screen) and the pilot episode of The Amazing Screw-On Head (small screen). Beautiful.
