Character Info
Name: Jade Chan
Movie/series: Jackie Chan Adventures
Year/Position: 6th grade
Non-Speaking Animal Companion(if any): N/A

Powers(if any):
Possesses latent mystical powers but she’s unaware of their full extent. All she knows is that she’s very good at using Chi magic. Though not really a power per se, Jade also has the uncanny ability to appear in the middle of the action mere seconds after being left behind in a safe area.

Canon history:

AU history:

Though born and raised in the Land of Dragons, Jade's parents sent her away to live with her Uncle Jackie in San Francisco, Evangeline since she lacked the focus or any interest in being a proper lady. They hoped spending time with her relative would mellow her out; however, it did the exact opposite. Her punishment soon became an adventure after witnessing Jackie fight off the Dark Hand and find the Rooster Talisman. The rest was canon history. Jade joined her relatives in their subsequent adventures to find twelve talismans while fighting against dark mystical forces such as Shendu and Daolon Wong.

Sadly, all great things must come to an end.

Unfortunately for Jade, it came in form of a letter. While she viewed it as a death sentence, Jackie and Uncle saw Disney Academy's invitation as an opportunity for her to learn responsibility and self-control while keeping her safe from the black mist and away from Jackie's dangerous adventures. Jade begrudgingly accepted the dumb invitation, not before photocopying Uncle's whole book of Chi spells of course.

Personality:

As her Uncle Jackie once put it, “Jade, you have fine talent...for getting into trouble.”

Tch, duh. Considering all the mischief she causes, this is a total understatement. Jade's impulsiveness and spirit for adventure have proven to be a rather obnoxious combination. She is almost always disobeying her Uncle Jackie’s advice to stay in one place for safety reasons. With a stubborn desire to be in the middle of the action, she'll do whatever it takes to watch (and hopefully do) some butt-whooping.

With impulsiveness comes a quick mind. She thinks on her feet, finding simple and effective solutions to problems ranging from demon apocalypses to detention. Jade’s also great at coming up with logical and self-indulgent excuses that keep her from being grounded for eternity. Despite her high intelligence, she slacks off in school and has a hard time paying attention to anything that doesn’t deal with kung-fu, adventure, or magic.

Jade considers family to be very important, and practically hero-worships her Uncle Jackie. Like him, she's courageous and is the first to help those who need it. Of course, just because she has good intentions doesn't mean everything goes according to plan since she usually doesn't have one in the first place!

Greatest Fear:

Jade fears losing Jackie's pride and respect. While he disapproves of practically everything she does, he's never been ultimately disappointed in her. She can't bear with the idea of her hero and inspiration having no faith in her and her abilities.

How do you see your character fitting in?:

I can easily see Jade following people like Mulan and Hercules (anyone who's a kick-butt hero really) around. She would probably ask them about their heroic deeds, bug them to teach her some fighting moves, etc. I think she could make friends pretty easily given her outgoing personality, though it's usually harder with kids her age. Regarding plot stuff, she would definitely try and sneak her way into missions (and probably fail). Hopefully, this place will help teach her some self-control and discipline.

Writing
Third person writing sample:
Now, it wasn't as if Jade looking for trouble. She was simply looking for something to do. Needless to say that would require her causing some kind of havoc, but she didn’t want to land herself detention so early on in the year. It felt inevitable though, considering just how dull the first few days at this place had been for her. How could a school with a talking mouse as the principal be so dull? Talk about false advertising.

Dangling upside-down from the edge of her bed, Jade tried to contemplate on how to cure her ever-growing boredom. Eating was definitely not an option ever since the cafeteria had a pancake free-for-all that one morning. Ugh... Her upset stomach persuaded her further to think of a different idea. So, she looked around her room for inspiration.

Soon Jade was staring hard at the mess of papers scattered on her work desk. “...I could do homework,” she said to herself, scrunching her nose in disgust. “Tch, as if!” Nothing could make her resort to homework as a form on entertainment. She shuddered from the thought.

“Think, Jade, think! What did you usually do around Uncle’s shop when dying from boredom?” Then it dawned on her. “Duh! Mess around with chi-spells!” With the sudden revelation, she jumped off her bed and grabbed her backpack. Dumping all of it contents onto the floor, she grabbed the photocopied version of Uncle’s book of chi-spells and searched for the perfect one.

Once she found the ‘most awesome’ spell ever, Jade quickly prepared on it like a mad man. Since she lacked some key ingredients in her room, she snuck into the kitchen with the concoction in hand. When the coast was clear, she nabbed the missing materials and mixed them in. She left it sitting on the table, heading towards the sink to get a glass of water and failing to notice it bubbling louder and louder. Her eyes widened when she turned around.

BAM! The contents from the bowl exploded all over the once sparkling-clean kitchen and an unsuspecting teacher. Jade nervously laughed, “He he..Oops.”

First person writing sample:
[First thing that appears on the feed is a pair of angry, golden eyes judging you with scrutiny.] Hey! What is this?!

[Suddenly, you see a pile of math homework with frowney faces scribbled all over.]  Look at this all homework. Tch, are all teachers here this cruel?

[Brings camera back to Jade's face. Boy, she does not look happy.]

Hello
, I'm being tortured here! I can't remember all of these math equations. I can handle memorizing chi-spells, fighting off bulky henchmen, and even saving the world from demon baddies but not this!

[Looks at the camera innocently with those round 'Disney princess' eyes.]
So,  is anyone willing to do to my homework tutor me with math?
