I couldn't resist. Really.

I had to do something dramatic. Because everything else at this school is damn boring, no one is shagging anyone anymore -- except I've heard something about Lavender Brown, but what's there to say about her . . . . No surprise.

Anyway. I lost the bloody bet, I don't have a date for the ball, and I felt ugly.

So I just cut off all my hair.

. . . the party was absolutely fantastic.

Fucking fantastic.

There were so many people there . . . the bass player from the Weird Sisters, Elizabeth Capper editor of Spellbound, Michael Kerr -- son of some American politician that is heavily anti-Fudge . . . and completely sexy, Angelina Johnson (whom I spoke to for a few minutes . . . it's odd, we were in school with her, but now she plays for the Arrows and her career is just taking off . . . but she's no different). Of the students . . . well, Neville and I got without much hassle . . . I told him it wouldn't be hard. I saw Daphne Greengrass there and Marietta Edgecombe and I think Lisa Turpin although we didn't speak. Also one Ravenclaw boy whose pretty high up but I couldn't really tell who. A few other Slytherins but not many, and some Gryffindor seventh year I don't know. There were other musicians and other recognizable faces . . . .

And then. Niko.

It was his party so naturally he would have been there but I wasn't really prepared. He's so . . . he's amazing looking in pictures. In real life, I was astounded. I managed to get near him . . . I even managed to talk to him. I haven't told anyone yet, it's hard to hold in, and I almost want to keep it secret.

Forget that though.

As for Neville, I do hope he had a good time. He's rather fun to be around, actually, even if he is on the quiet side. He's good looking, I noticed girls there looking at him, even if he is a little chubby. He's very cute. And while I don't fancy him or anything, I know someone definately could.

I don't, though.

Occasionally I wonder if I should feel bad. For instance, and this one happened to be true, I have everyone in Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and most of Gryffindor aware that Millicent and the silly wanker Blaise are an item, which is actually not that impressive as I’m sure a few people are quick enough to have picked up on it eventually. I did also manage to make sure at least half those people knew that Blaise had received an owl from his parents urging him to . . . rather, instructing him to be ready to marry soon after school is over. I also managed to let a few leaks out on some Ravenclaw seventh years, a Slytherin second year (who I really did see with bright blue, glowing teeth, which would explain his stay in the Hospital Wing for this week), and Dean Thomas, who now appears to be seeing Francine Wood.

Caught them snogging out on the pitch in the girls’ locker room. Quite hot and heavy they seemed to be.

Anyway, the most interesting thing I found out?

There’s supposedly a party . . . a birthday party for some rock star or celebrity or someone in Hogsmeade at a discotheque this Saturday night, starting at eleven or so? Bliss.

Will so be there. Even if I have to sell my right leg to get in.

Do you have a clue how utterly annoying it is to return to the school and nothing remotely interesting is happening? I mean, I haven't heard a word from Megan . . . or anyone for that matter, and I usually am the one who knows the most. Worse yet, classes are actually taking my time, and while I've never been one to complain much about lessons as I -- Merlin forbid -- actually enjoy them, it's a shame that I spend more time thinking about that than . . . well, fun stuff.

So.

I gave everyone a chance.

And since I never get caught. And even on the odd day that I do, it never turns out to matter much because no one can really prove it and even less people stay angry at me for more than a minute or so . . . .

Time to start making things up.

This is what happens when my schoolmates don't live juicy lives. It's not my fault. I waited.

It's funny. My Journalism teacher said that news is, by any stretch of the imagination, one's thoughts placed on paper, whether it's factual or not.

And yes, I know he's an idiot. But I like his class already.

And this will simply be one of those times when the information just happened not to be factual.

I am so happy I don't have a conscience.
