The National to Appear on Next Sufjan Stevens Album

Sufjan Stevens has finally headed back into the studio, and in this case, it’s the National’s studio, in Brooklyn. “We’ve played on some of the tracks and been listening to some of the stuff as he’s been working on it,” National guitarist Bryce Dessner recently told Exclaim!. Dessner was pretty tight-lipped about the details out of respect for his comrade’s artistic privacy, although when asked if the new Stevens material was bearing much resemblance to previous releases, Dessner was unequivocal in his response of “No.”

i was either reading here or sufjanfans, and someone had an unedited version of his performance at austin city limits. i saved it once but i had to redo my whole system and forgot to save it. could someone lead me in the right direction or upload it for me?

WTF is going on lately? Sufjan has vanished into thin air since the end of his tour, and then today I see "The Dress Looks Nice On You" used in a Twilight commercial or something?! Am I the last one to notice this, and find it strange and sort of sad?

So, I mean, I know Sufjan Stevens is popular (in certain circles) but it never failed to baffle me when, exactly one year ago, I made this post on Volume Knob. It blew up, and gave a permanent boost to our readership.

And sure, a lot of blogs linked to my post, but most have the exclusive readership of the blog's author. Then I checked one blog link. (Whaa-wait? NY Mag featured our blog AND WE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT??)

oh, and I'm so obsessed with The BQE these-a-days. I've watched it every single day since it arrived in the mail and it never ceased to just impress me and also show such peace and beauty for an artificial, grating environment. In that sense, it reminds me of the opposite of the movie "Rivers and Tides: Working with Andy Goldsworthy." Anyone else seen that one?
