I just opened the category for submissions. I'm a half-hour early, but I didn't think anyone would mind. I have to be up at the buttcrack of dawn because I'm helping with a wedding tomorrow. As noted on the site, there was a death in my family. That means that for a couple of days, I'll be unavailable in case any issues come up. Should anything go wrong, please let me know, just be aware it might be a few days before I get back to you. Of course, if you post here, most of the members know as much or more than I do about how things work, so your question'll probably get answered before I'm back. Good luck, competitors; the countdown has begun!

It's that time of year, folks. Or almost. There's only nine days until HanWriMo09 launches, so I thought I'd post the rules. These might be edited later, I haven't had to put one together in so long, I've gotten more-than-rusty! ( HanWriMo09 Rules and WhatnotCollapse )If you have any questions or comments, let me know by commenting below.
Sorry to be overloading you all. I'm trying to make up for the lost time. And establish a good work ethic in regards to the archive, in hopes it will make it easier to keep the routine once the new semester starts. ( Announcements under the cutCollapse )Thanks for your patience!

So I was thinking, maybe, of putting up a new category. I mean, in reality, Hanfic's been in existence for over a decade, and many of us have been writing it that long or longer! So that means we all have potentially large bodies of work, especially old work. So I was thinking about creating a new category for old/er works. ( Pros and cons after the cut.Collapse )Thoughts, comments, ideas? Please post your own pros/cons, if you've thought of something I've left out.

Re: FAQ When I'm reading stories with adulty content, this annoying box keeps popping up. What's up with that, and how do I get it to stop?! Basically it's to let the surfer beware the story they're reading isn't kid-safe. So if you're not old enough to read it and it scars you for life, you can't blame us because we warned you. If you're over 13 and want to make all the bad boxes go away, try signing up. Once you're a member, there's an option to make the boxes stop popping up at you.I've checked the option, but they're still showing up. Is everyone in the same boat? And am I doing the right thing? turtleteeth: Logo?

So now that the archive's script settings are mostly restored, my biggest goal is to keep up with submissions and to try and restore the community. To achieve this, I think it would help to have a logo so that when people see it, they instantly know it's TTR. The only problem is, I kind of suck with conceptualizing logos. Therefore, I'm positing a thought/question/general query: what do you think would make a good logo?

For anyone who's out there, TTR is back up. It only took eight months--wayh wayh wayh. For more about the return of TTR, ( click hereCollapse )

I sorry this wasn't posted earlier, but my ancient dialup is all I have access to now that the semester is over. I am sure you guys have noticed that TheTightrope.org has been down for almost a week now. I wanted to say that I am aware of the situation and am trying to remedy it. My account was hacked, so my host took down all my sites as a precaution. It's a tedious problem to rectify, but I'm trying to do it as quickly as possible. Please bear with me in the mean time. As soon as the site is back up and running, I will post here and let you know. Stay tuned for updates!

We need to do something soon to recapture the sense of community that SD/TTR used to have. Anyone have any ideas?
Voting is now open. In the interest of brevity, I put the whole spiel into a cut. So... see cut for details. :D
