Okay, for the past couple of weeks I've been getting into NBA recently based off art I saw on Twitter of LeBron James and Steph Curry and I was very much #moved by it. It's basically a huge reality show and I'm TAPPED IN. As I read the fanfics though, there's something that really bothers me. Like really bothers the fuck out of me and makes me look at fujos as a whole kind of disugstingly, lol. Just need to get this out, I'm probably gonna make a Tumblr soon to rant to an actual audience because no one fuckin' uses Livejournal anymore.

Anyway, the dialogue of these stories bug me a lot and I can tell that the people writing these mostly black men are not black themselves. And there is a SHIT TON of nuance when it comes to being 1- black, 2- gay/bisexual, and 3- an athlete. Non-black writers simply cannot capture that nuance because they aren't apart of the community. Being 'DL' is a whole sexuality in the black community that just isn't conveyed in these fics. They ignore these players' wifes and girlfriends and children which I get because its essentially fiction, but it definitely adds more layers to the story. Also, the dialogue in some of these fics is so fucking embarrassing, LMFAO. I appreciate when the writers put some effort in adding slang and AAVE, but if you replaced the names of LeBron and Steph in a given fanfic with Steve and Bucky, you wouldn't notice a goddamn thing dialogue wise.

Why do all these boy band docs focus on the same damn things all the time? Unless there's something NEW to say, we don't need a new one of these every damn year basically telling the same story. We know ALL about Lou, unless some juicy ass tea is being revealed, keep it in the vault! 

Anyway, Lance lowkey pissed me off in this doc. Why does he lie so much??? JC was the one who came up with the No Strings Attached name, according to LANCE on his own fucking podcast. Why is he saying he's the one who did?? And regarding the hiatus, according to Alex G, Lance is the one who told the guys he needed some time off to go to space. According to Lance in his book, Justin was the one who started the hiatus to record his solo album. 

What's the fucking truth? Lance has said before that some "facts" in his books were not accurate, like certain years and places, which is true, so that casts doubt on the validity of the book as a whole. If fans are more inclined to trust what Alex G says about JC's career and use that as proof since he was heavily involved with the production for *NSYNC and JC, then his version of the truth is the one I'm more inclined to believe as well. He doesn't have anything to lie about, but Lance does. 

Lance is such a conflicting figure, like he contradicts himself constantly and barely stands on anything. Very wishy washy and disingenuous

Using LJ as a public diary to vent about *NSYNC and whatever I want.  For my first official post, I initially made an *NSYNC ship list, but I have a few revisions, so here's my new list. Made a Livejournal account to join the ONTD community but I also wanted to see how the site worked from a user perspective. All I did was lurk before, going through the journals of my favorite *NSYNC fanfic writers. It was really interesting seeing how the fandom used to be back then and how things haven't changed much, I guess except for the shipping aspect. And Chris was REALLY loved too. Now he's a bit of a nonfactor in favor of Joshtin. 

Anyway, will be using this as a diary of sorts to get out inside thoughts. I've got a lot of them and they need a place to go.
