So there will be some kind of exhibition about Sonic Youth in Düsseldorf, Germany from 31st January to 10th May this year including a concert (24th April):
The museum exhibition SONIC YOUTH ETC. : SENSATIONAL FIX focuses on the multidisciplinary activities of Sonic Youth since the band's formation in 1981. It features the band's collaborations with visual artists, filmmakers, designers and musicians, as well as a choice of other works selected by the band. Through the multidisciplinary output of Sonic Youth and related works by other artists in the exhibition, an alternative history of contemporary culture is being uncovered in which the division between 'high art' and 'low art' is being called into question, while issues are explored such as teenage rebellion, adolescent wanderlust, gender, fame, fashion, sexuality, and religion. The exhibition is initiated and curated by freelance curator Roland Groenenboom in collaboration with the band and will be presented in Bolzano, Italy (from 10 October 2008 to 4 January 2009), and Kunsthalle Dusseldorf, Germany (31 January to 26 April 2009). Next up is The Museum of Malmo, Sweden (from May 29 to September 20 2009). Further venues are currently in discussion, in Europe, the US and Asia.

Daydream Nation, Soon to Be a Teen Comedy Movie Starring That Girl From "Heroes"
Daydream Nation: Sonic Youth's masterpiece, the inspiration for two decades of indie rock, still sounds great today, the greatest album of the 1980s, "You'd be hard pressed to find many fans of indie rock who don't have some love for this record."
Daydream Nation: Forthcoming teen comedy directed by Michael Goldbach, starring "Heroes" cheerleader Hayden Panettiere and maybe Kieran Culkin, "the producers are hoping to reinvent the coming-of-age story for the 21st century, calling the film an intellectual comedy a la Juno and Election."

i have two tickets to the lupo's show on the 17th, and i need to be rid of them.
i was excited to go to the show, but my school break falls during that week and i will be out of state.

Жаль, не купил нового альбома "Sonic youth" ещё летом, как собирался... А теперь, куда ни подойду, продавцы говорят: "Диски были, да купили!" Хотя, по рецензиям, альбом записан тАк себе, он мне нужен - из уважения к творчеству одной из великих и любимых групп. |

I went to a SY concert last friday and I was baffled to see a mosh pit form in the crowd as soon as they started playing. Now, I don't mean your average pushing and shoving, but serious windmilling style shin kicking and limb flailing.
The whole experience left me rather mystified, as I don't consider SY to be moshing material and have never seen this at any of their concerts before.
Is this just me getting old?
Would you mosh to SY?
