Are you fed-up with garbage, full-of-shit sites where nobody actually communicates, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter? Do you wish your old friends who've migrated to those sites would return to LiveJournal? The the_lj_revival community has been set up with that aim in mind, and you are invited to join it. If you are already on LiveJournal and still have a Facebook profile, and would like to see more people returning to LJ or setting up accounts here, we invite you to post a link to this community on your Facebook Timeline. If you would like to find out who is still using LiveJournal and make contact with those who are already here, you are invited to copy and paste the 'about me' questions on the profile page and post them with your answers to the community.

Hey guys, check out Oslo! They are the new side project of Gabe McNair, formerly of No Doubt. Their new album, The Rise and Fall of Love and Hate, is co-produced by Sam Fogarino of Interpol. It's an awesome album, so definitely give it a listen!

Some music for you to download. I've sorted this by album and then posted a sample song or two so you can see whether or not you'd like to download the full thing. I don't want to bombard this community, so if you want more, feel free to take from my blog.

Band: The Feral Song Title: Weeds Year: 2006 Genre: Noise rock! I can't remember exactly how I more specificallly described our stuff last time I posted here, but consider an orgy of Scratch Acid, the Birthday Party, Big Black, Cop Shoot Cop, Alien Sex Fiend, and the Stooges, and you're on the right track.
Downloadable from our myspace: http://www.myspace.com/theferal.
Feedback is- as always- quite welcome!
(x-posted a bunch)

my band- the feral- just posted our first song online, and would love for you to check it out. we are in the process of recording an EP for release later in the summer, which will include this song as well as (most likely) 4 others. we consider ourselves noise rock, influenced by the likes of cop shoot cop, big black, alien sex fiend, bauhaus, and the stooges...to name a very few.
anyway, having stumbled across this community, i thought some of you folks might be interested; i'd love to hear your input!
ps: hi, my name's aurora, been lurking for a while, hoping to meet some nice folks on here, etc. :)

| I'm working my way back to you |
[24 Apr 2006|08:26am] |
I've been with this community since the beginning, and in the early days, suggestions flew, mixes were posted with wild abandon; there were a dozen posts per week, easy. And it was good. I got to experience a lot of good music before it hit the mainstream, and had some neglected gems of yesteryear lovingly resurrected into my playlist (Steve Forbert's "Romeo's Tune" for example).
Then interest in the community waned, and except for one real post (usually by Ferreson), else advertising drivebys, every week or two, the community is dead. Or, so I hope, just dormant.
So I propose we spark the interest back with a weekly post each, just one song (or album, or hell why not artist) that you are currently listening to and enjoying. It doesn't matter if it's the latest underground indie europunk on Pitchforkmedia, or if it's Journey (how I love me some Journey!), so long as it's a song/album/whatever you're digging. A little explanation blurb is nice, but hardly necessary.
My selection for this week: John Hiatt "Memphis in the Meantime" off his Bring the Family album. A rollicking guitar driven bluesy zydeco rock from one of the all-time masters of writing a deep three chord song. This will get your foot moving and your head bobbing. (As a bonus, the album also contains the beautiful "Have A Little Faith In Me" and the songwriter's version of a song later covered by Bonnie Raitt, "Thing Called Love.")
