hi all!
i have just joined this community - it looks and sounds very interesting.
i always critique songs, artists and movies - so this community is right up my alley.

for my first song review, i shall be reviewing the song
"Everything Burns" by Ben Moody and Anastacia.

I feel that this song is a dark, enchanting tale of anger. It tells the story of someone who is grieving over something/angry with somebody (in a nutshell). There are several things that I liked about the song -
1) That it's acoustic. -- i love anything acoustic, but i think that the mix of the guitar and the artist's vocals are just spellbinding. The producers/composers could have easily added the electric guitar and a heavier beat to make this a more rocky-type song
2) The combination of the artists. -- Never in a million years would i have thought that Ben Moody, former Evanescence-er would team up with pop sensation Anastasia. They both keep true to their roots, and thats what makes the song succeed.
Overall, it's a great song. Check it out on the Fantastic Four Soundtrack.
*as rumored, Avril Lavigne recorded a version with Ben Moody, but was re-recorded with Anastasia, because Avril Lavigne sounded too dull. However, this is not true; Avril was set to record but couldn't due to conflicts with her schedule. (she was touring all over europe, ya know...

Thats Obsession by Frankie J I really like this song because my boyfriend dedicated it to me and I thot that was really sweet of him to do! My boyfriend is originally from Puerto Rico so he can sing this in Spanish too

***Song Review***

Artist: Kylie Minogue
Song: Chocolate
Album: Body Language

So where does one begin? hrmm...It's name is chocolate and it's Kylie's 3rd and possibly the final single off the her 9th studio album, Body Language. I am a huge fan of Kylie's but this song, it dissapoints. Through most of the song she sings with a whispery faux-sensual tone of voice. Basically she's trying to be Janet Jackson, which you think would work for one her comtemporaries but this song proves otherwise. The track is extremely over produced and it's so busy that its hard to keep up with whats actually going. I like the heavy R&B bass in the back ground and the light synth loop that run thru most of the song. But after you add in the the unnescessary (and a alittle annoying) piano, one guys in the background saying "that's right" and the 37634573732 weird little synth loops in the background its kinda hurts the ears alittle bit. The lyrics are awful, Kylie tries to make her voice sound vulnerable and sweet to fool you into thinking the lyrics have a deeper meaning but they dont. On top of this they are horribly written. Stupid Metaphors like "If love were liquid it would drown me" to non-sensical lines like "in a placeless place would find me"" plague the song. The only part were the song truly comes off as "chocolately" is after the second verse during the break, they heavy vocal and background production are removed and kylie's faux sensuality finally comes off as real. Unfortunately the rest of the song doesnt share the same quality as that one part. Honestly this song just comes off as generic overprocessed sweetness in a pretty wrapper. Like a hershey's bar it's sweet but too much of it will make you fat....er...you get what I'm saying

Ana Johnsson - We Are

Straight off the long awaited feature film 'Spiderman 2' soundtrack, Ana Johnsson is the only female featured on the soundtrack. Not only due to that does she stand out the song itself stands out.
With an almost haunting voice she sings the song in every way, from whispers to moans and a fewtypical rocker chick shoutsto add the 'Im not a pop gum blonde' sound. A song based on heavy beats, perfect to jam to when alone. Some may see a slight resemblance in style to that of Evanescence, however Ana is notmuch of a comparison to the voice of Amy Lee. Providing us lyrics that will make you think about them before you go on, its a really good song. Not only will you have it with you for a while but the lyrics are very different and very well crafted. The music goes from acoustic guitars to heavy drumming and guitars, covering many genres in only one song.
Some may find the song to include subliminal messages, or satanic messages to be more clear, due to the mention of "the devil on the doorstep now. [...]
Telling everybody, oh, just how to live their lives." This songs theme isnt very clear but leaves it open for interpetation by the listener, mainly talking about how the happy lives we wish with our "picked fences" arent happening, however the only ones to blame for that is ourselves.
A truly inspirational song that will get everyone thinking, a very catchy rock tune with a great message. Keep an eye out for Ana, we just might have another enw star on the rising...

I really like this song, I like the music, the words, and I think its one of Britneys best little slow / techno songs she has made. I love the words and you can really feel it, Let me explain why I do.

(The words simply show a need / want, a feel, timing, In many aspects people try hard to fill their dire need of want and love. The feelings that you are given when you are in this state of mind are so high. But when your alone theirs somthing missing somthing wrong and yes it doesnt seem fair. But the last words say I still wanna take u there, Meaning she wont give up,.. as I feel)

This song is a very refreshing song. Although Lindsay may not posess the BEST singing voice, its a pleasant voice, something quite rare these days. Its the anthem to not only just teenage girls, but all teenagers in general. This new teen-empowerment song featured in the follow up to the Disney hit 'The Princess Diaries';'The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement' was written by songwriting genius Diane Warren (best know for her work with the likes of Celine Dion and Aerosmith) and had the help of 'American Idol' jusdge Randy jackson.
This is the ultimate feel good song, not only does it speak for itself, but Lindsay really FEELS the lyrics instead of singing them. The song is a hard pop song with a few elements of rock in it, featuring heavy drumming and guitarring. This isnt your typical Disney song, not only is it less sugar coated but its real, and many people will be able to relate to it with lyrics like 'I'm gonna do it all and do too much, and if I mess the whole thing up...it's MY right'. This truly is an inspratinal song, leading people to think for themselves and stand up for themselves and not follow what others do but be their own person. The tune is VERY catchy and is a song thats very good to just rock out to with your friends. Although, however catchy the tune is the lyrics seem to somewhat hard to remember, but with a few listens should easily become a fave. of many music lovers.
Overall a very good song, however if your a sucker for divalicious voices, or would rather hear something more 'cutting edge' this song isnt for you.

Beverley Knight is one of the most underrated R&B singers in the UK. Although her roots lie with R&B, this rock-inspired tune is definitely going to be a huge summer hit.
It has been co-written by Guy Chambers, formerly know as the brains behind Robbie Williams' hits. In that respect this song can be compared as the female equivalent of 'Let Me Entertain You'. It is one of those songs that you just can't help to jump up-and-down to and sing at the top of your lungs (even if you're not the worlds greatest singer, like me;).
It has every musical instrument you can think of in it. From rocking guitars to jazzy trumpets ;)
Her voice is just amazing. The sound of gospel is very apparent.
As a B-side they have added 'Shoulda Woulda Coulda'. This track is a couple of years old but still a classic chill-out summer song. Relax on the beach or by the pool with this song gently humming in the background.
Plz go out and buy it if you live in the UK or download if you can't get your hands on a copy..

I am reviewing "Touch of my Hands" By Britney Spears, This is one of my Favorite songs because it induges into places unseen.
"Im not Ashamed Of the Things that I dream, I find myself flirting with the verge of Obsence" Those lyrics are full of freedom and triump. It express's a faith of survival and letting go.
I think this song all in all is a bad a** song.
"I just discovered Imaginations takne over"
This is set aside through many aspects, in my opinion I would think to express the way I feel, and the things Ive done. Imgination plays an extreme role in our minds and takes us into Journeys unseen before. Without it, We would be Lost.
Well this is my Song Review, I have many others But wuts your opinion on this song ?
