X-Men: Apocalypse is a 2016 American superhero movie. It is based on the fictional Marvel Comics superhero team the X-Men.

The movie is the ninth installment of the X-Men Cinematic Universe, is the sequel of X-Men: Days of Future Past and is the third movie of the X-Men prequel quadrilogy.

It was followed by the sequel, Dark Phoenix in 2019.
