The next fic following on from my post yesterday.

Summary: Now in the French Mistake universe, Chuck sulks about the universe that blew up while commandeering Gabriel's TV to watch reruns of Supernatural.

“Just look at him. Look at how great he was.”

“This is an uncomfortable level of meta, even for you,” Gabriel said.

Chuck waved both hands at the TV, which had somehow become permanently stuck on reruns of Supernatural. Chuck was watching the fourth season.

“Where did I go wrong with him? Who would have thought he’d destroy everything?”

“You’ve really gotta get over this hang-up. Stop obsessing.”

“I had a plan,” Chuck said, wallowing. “He wasn’t supposed to destroy the universe.”

Gabriel raised an eyebrow. “Just like Lucifer wasn’t supposed to rebel.”

“No, he was supposed to rebel. It was part of the plan.”

“I suppose him killing me was also part of the plan. Thanks for that.”

Chuck gave him a side-eye. “You seem fine.”

On screen, Castiel was trying to warn Dean about the plans for the Apocalypse. Gabriel again tried to change the channel, to no avail.

“I could write this,” Chuck said offhandedly.

“You did write this, remember? O Prophet of Thyself?”

“No, I mean I could actually write this. I could get on the show staff. I could change the story.”

“Like that’s going to fix what happened.”

“It would make me feel better,” Chuck said, irritable.

“Okay, before I even start with how messed up that is, you do know that the show was cancelled, right? There was a shootout between the Winchesters and some rogue angel. It made the news for a week—well, the shooting part did, not ‘the visitors from another universe’ part.”

“I can fix that.”

Gabriel snorted. “What happened to keeping a low profile?”

“I can fix it subtly. I work in—”

“We know,” Gabriel groaned. “It’s a new universe, get a new catchphrase.”

Chuck narrowed his eyes. “Be good or I won’t write you back in.”
