I'm doing my first ever friends cut. There are a few who either never post, never comment, or for some reason their pages are never shown on my friends page. Nothing personal to anyone. The ones I am cutting probably wont even read this anyway. If you've been cut and really want back in, just message me.

Is It Just Me?
When I have strong feelings about an issue but find that many others
feel differently, I often
wonder, is it just me? Why don't others see what I see? Am I somehow
off base, or are my
beliefs correct? Can there be multiple "right" answers, or is this a
moral issue for which only
one answer is possible? Lately I've been struggling with this feeling
about the rising cesarean birth rates.
It seems so fundamentally wrong to me that over 30% of women now give
birth by surgical intervention
that I can't even imagine how all this came to be and why anyone would
believe it's okay. Read more...Collapse )

I e-mailed walgreens about our "incident." They will respond in the next 2 business days.

Lunches are packed, clothes set out. Gotta go...Simpsons is on, then its bedtime.

1) I will try to make a hot breakfast at least 3 times a week. Cereal is NOT acceptable for breakfast 5 days a week. (repeat last sentence 5 times or until drilled into my head)

2) I will try to pack a lunch 4 days a week instead of having them buy because I'm too lazy. (note to self...pack lunches when done posting this)

3) I will try to walk the kids to and from school every day that the weather permits. This means not hitting snooze 5 times so we are running late and HAVE to take the van to get there on time.

4) I will become more organized with their homeowrk and papers. (note to self...bring up paper shelves)

5) I will try to incorporate fly lady back into my life and have my own "chore list" that needs to get done daily.

6) I will cook more dinners and stop eating out so much.

Went to walgreens today to grab a few last minute items for school. Andy was a little crabby, so while we were in the checkout line, Anthony got one of those musical cards for him to play with. He loves those! Anthony was opening them and listening too. He wasnt being obnoxious, wasnt jumping around, wasnt ripping the card or peeing on it.

The manager walked over, grabbed it out of Anthony's hands and placed it back in the card holder and walked away. I just stood there staring at him for a minute and I said,

"He can't listen to those?"

"Not really. I'd have to sent them back because the battery would die."

"Well, maybe next time you can bring it to my attention instead of grabbing it from his hands."

"I didnt mean anything by it."

"No? Obviously you did. You wouldnt have grabbed it out of the hands of an adult!"

He didnt have anything to say about that. I was so fumed. It was like because Anthony is a kid and wont say anything or stand up for himself that this guy thinks he can get away with treating him like that. Then people wonder why kids have no respect for adults. All he had to do was say, "Excuse me, son, but it's best if you dont play with those because the battery will die." I'm sure Anthony would have been glad to put it back, and if not, I could have inforced it WITHOUT the man grabbing it from his hands. That was just WRONG! Boycotting Walgreens!!!! BOOOOOO!!!!!

I went to BJ's today...bought 2 bath towels on clearance for $3 each. Got them as a gift for Christmas for my uncle. Then they had beautiful dresses on clearance...only 1 left in Amber's size! Originally $44, clearanced to $10. So, they ring me out and it comes to $24! So I payed, checked the receipt and headed over to customer service. They had charged $5.99 per towel! So, I got my money back, plus a super refund of $10, which paid for Amber's new dress! Yay for free clothes!

School starts on Wednesday and I now have a 4th grader and a second grader! How odd! I think it will be a good year...Amber has Mrs. V, which was Anthony's old teacher and she's pro-breastfeeding and never batted an eye when I nursed Andy in class as a room Mom. We now have a special bond and she wont give me flack if I nurse our new baby (that will hopefully be here before the school year ends!) Anthony has Mr. H, but its a blended class this year with one additional teacher and a teacher's assistant. He needs the help. I am considering hiring a tutor in the fall to keep him on the right path. I still have 3 more things I need to get for school, in addition to organizing their closets...I will NEVER get this done by Wednesday!

HomeGrown Baby has moved to Eden and I am out of a job. Thats ok, because I didnt really want to work anyway. It was ideal though...bring the kids, make a few bucks, and see pregnant and nursing Moms all day. I got to talk about all my favorite stuff! I'll miss it, but I still have the internet!

TTC update: We decided to go ahead and try to conceive last cycle. I had some bloodwork done to test my progesterone at 7 days past peak and 11 days past peak. Its supposed to be 10 or higher and rising. Mine was 7.4 and then dropped to 7.1. Its clear now and confirmed (though I always suspected) that I have low progesterone levels. How we treat it, I dunno. I will meet with my OB on the 8th with my charts to discuss where we go from here. We also have genetic testing on the 5th. Anyway, So I see my OB on the 8th, we discuss my charts and I will ovulate around the 12th-14th which happen to be Chris' days off! WOOT! Then its back to the 2 week wait period...Last cycle was so exciting because on paper it looked so promising we were pregnant...I even had an "implanation dip". But alas...I wasnt. Now I'm gearing up for this month. We are so hopeful and so ready.

I had my "Mother's Helper" come over the other day for the first time. It went well and she interacted well with Andy. She played quietly with him and he was content and happy the whole time. I hope she can come tomorrow again. I need to get more organized for school!

Anybody have any ideas for packing school lunches? I am so sick of making PB&J or lunchmeats, but Anthony is so picky.

Oh...and Anthony has armpit hair! LOL!

Amber had her VCUG (yearly scan for renal reflux) and was due to have surgery this fall. It appears she has fallen into the 20% that outgrow this condition...her scans look fantastic! We confirm the diagnosis on the 12th with her surgeon in Rochester, but as of now she will no longer need sugery! Yay! They couldnt even find the scar tissue that was there a year ago. God is good!

Speaking of God, church has been so amazing lately. I'm just drinking it up.

Alissa may be moving in with us in the coming year. Her mother had hopes of putting her in a home when she turned 18. Chris wants her here, so he asked how she felt about it. She seems to be on board and thinks we should make a smooth transition...get her staying here more and more often until she just lives here. So far she's been here almost 2 weeks straight. This would be great news! I cant get her here soon enough!

That is all for now. I must make sleep.

Anne Geddes
I got a positive ovulation test today and have had lots of eggwhite since cycle day 12...it's now CD 19 and Chris gets home from being out of town for work today! So we still might have a chance of conceiving this cycle. Send prayers and baby dust! And no phone calls past 10! *wink*

Happy Birthday. Don't know why I even bother posting this. You don't deserve it, but I'm still thinking of you today.
