If you have not been an active member of LiveJournal for at least 6 months, then you cannot join this community. If you are under the age of 18, then you must be able to obtain stamps and postcards in order to join. If you do not actively participate in LiveJournal and its Communities, then this community is not the place for you.
Sometimes, all it takes is the simplest thing to lift someone's spirits on a bad day. Like a little note from a friend... a postcard.
That's what this community is for. No reason, just because you feel like sending a postcard to someone. Or because you collect postcards. Maybe you noticed someone was having a bad week in their journal. You saw an image on a postcard that reminded you of someone. Who cares what the reason.
It's simple. It's cheap. It's fun. And most importantly, it makes someone smile... and it only took a minute of your time.
Sounds like you? Then join. Have fun. Play nice. Make someone smile, get to smile in return.
Now that this community has so many members, I'd like to mention a few things:
1. All member addresses are located in the Memories section for the community. They are viewable to members only. Please do not make posts asking members to leave a comment with their mailing address -- doing so defeats the purpose of the Memories section.
2. When you post your mailing address, please make it a "Friends Only" post. Although this is not a requirement, it is strongly suggested. By making the post "Friends Only" you restrict the access to your mailing address, which means only postcard_fun members can view it, rather than the entire world.
3. If your address has changed, please make a post with your new address and it will be added to the Memories or update the old listing (please add the date it was updated). In addition, when/if you leave the community, please do not immediately delete your address post from the Memories section. Doing so interferes with the Memory log and prevents us from removing your name permanently from the Memories section (reference the username alphadiva in the memories for an example). Instead, make a post that you are leaving, allow us to REMOVE the memory, and then you can delete the post if you wish. Thanks in advance!
4. This community can only be successful if its members are active. Please be sure to make a weekly post when you receive postcards so that the other members know you are active. If you have not made any posts for 3 months, you will be removed from the community.

6. You can find websites that sell postcards online in the memories section here.
7.blusia handles the community maintenance (adding and removing members, layouts, etc).
8.kissekat updates the memories section. This includes adding new/updated addresses, removing old ones, and any other information contained in the memories.
9. We do not take any responsibility for lost or tainted mail.
10. Lastly, if you are under 18 please make SURE you have your parents permission before posting their home address on the internet. Thanks!
