BERJAYAuber1:57am: know your rights!
documentary photography can be intimidating if you don't know what's legal and what isn't. people like to harass or otherwise intimidate you into thinking you can't or shouldn't photograph certain things. BE CONFUSED NO MORE! here's a handy document i found listing your rights as a photographer.

BERJAYAinhaleinsanity8:43pm: idea?..
So I had an idea for a picture. It would be a photograph inside a photograph. Maybe thats kinda cheesey. My initial idea was to have the actual photograph of some old broken down place (inspired by my recent trips to the abandoned insane asylum..) and have a photograph on the ground of it in its prime...

Then I was thinking of a photograph of someone (person 1) looking a photograph. They'd be looking at a photograph of a person (person 2)-longingly or whatnot- and then the picture of person 2 will be holding another photograph of something they are longing for (such as a picture of themself- or a picture of money, or success or something like that). This idea stemmed from a relationship I have with someone who seems to be entirely focused on themself the majority of the time- and sometimes it's frustrating. I shall not say whom. :)

Any thoughts?

BERJAYAuber1:23am: matt siber, "the untitled project"
matt siber deconstructs images by separating the text from urban landscapes. it's incredible, really- deceptively simple in nature, yet ultimately intriguing and beautiful. the text is laid out on the page opposite the textless image. examples here.

matt siber's website, which includes statements and floating logos project, in the same vein as this one:

it's time to stop hating digital photography, no?

BERJAYAinhaleinsanity3:36pm: I wanted to start this community because I'm a photo major, and my lack of ideas and creativity are extremely frustrating. Taking pictures somehow seemed a lot easier back in high school. Maybe I was around more creative people or in a better environment. Either way, I know there are people out there trying to learn as photographers who probably have similar problems. So I wanted to start this community so people could share ideas they have, share pictures that they like, put photos up for critique from peers, post assignments they've had that worked for them or even assignments that they think suck and maybe need ideas for or feedback on. This is just a place to share and get ideas from. {Your pictures, other peoples pictures, famous artists/photographers} Anyone is welcome. I'm in the slow process of trying to get people I know who might be interested in a place like this to start posting. If this community interests you, please join and start posting! Hopefully this will be a place people can turn to for inspiration and constructive criticism.

-And thank you rachel for fixing up this site and making it purty and worthwhile to check out!- :)
