Myrtle Beach Book Club!
Hello! My girlfriend and I want to start a women's book club for people in or around Myrtle Beach, but we... need members for that. ;) We are both twenty, but it would be open to people of all ages. We mostly read things along the lines of: Francesca Lia Block, David Levithan, Eve Ensler, Barbara Kingsolver, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Vladimir Nabokov, Anne Rice, Augusten Burroughs, and of course, Harry Potter. We'd like to meet people who have similar taste as us, but also people who could introduce us to something new. There aren't any set plans right now, but we're both free on Tuesdays. We'd be willing to host the book club, but it would be interesting to rotate the locations. If anyone is interested in starting a book club with us, please email Brittany at girlrage@gmail.com. | | Tuesday, October 19th, 2010 | 4:52 pm [salteris]

Wondering...
I'm wondering If there are any people out there at least over 25 who are without any family during the holidays, be the culprit physical distance, emotional distance or death? Not looking to cry into our beers or anything, I'd rather have fun, but I'd love to make a well-enough-adjusted chum who understands what I'm quietly thinking behind my glass (and I them) when our more "maintained" chaps are going on about their holiday dramas and coal-filled stockings. It'd be nice to know someone else who is trying to make a "lemonade-filled" life where once in a while we can say, "Hey, you're doing an awesome job at this almost normal gig- cheers" and that be the best Christmas present evah! Or whatever...just less "maintained" than my current crowd, because though I love them beyond death, sometimes they're just reminders. Anyone out there who's getting this? If so email me, house party NYE. Current Mood: curious | | Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 | 8:46 am [phill_me_more]

Hello, My girlfriend and I have just started learning to knit. It's a lot of fun, and we would love to have other people our age (18 & 20) to teach and learn from, and to just knit and chat with. So, we would really like to start a knitting group. The group would be for people in their teens and 20's, who already knit or who would like to learn - we'll teach you!) First, to know if it can happen, we have to find enough people who are interested. We would meet every Thursday afternoon/evening (depending on everyone's schedules), in a park while it's nice, and when cooler weather comes, everyone can help decide where. So, if anyone in or around Myrtle Beach, SC is interested in joining a knitting group, please comment or email me at girlrunaway@gmail.com. The group would be for knitting, yes, but also a great way to meet new and interesting people. :) Thanks, Brittany [cross-posted to some other places] | | Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 | 3:42 pm [lightningdreams]

Vacationers looking for suggestions.
My wife and I were invited to share a condo with my parents-in-law on Kiawah Island for 10 days (June 6th-15th) but do our own thing(free vacation! woo!), but after a little poking around, I'm not finding much to do there, and I'm sure I'm way too antsy to soak up sun for the entire time. I'm sure there are more interesting things to do in less than a hour radius of Kiawah Island, and who better to ask about that stuff than real South Carolinians? Anyways, my wife and I are foodies, winos, and artsy-indie types. We'd enjoy both fancy and interesting restaurants as well as restaurants/food stands that show off uniquely SC foods. We'd enjoy any good local wineries. We'd enjoy unique/special music venues, good museums, fun/unique/local shopping areas, pretty places to hike, or anywhere else a couple in their mid twenties might like to see. Can any of you recommend your favorites? If you know of anything non-tourist trappy to do on Kiawah Island, that would also be appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help you can give. A few days in SC
Hi, I'll be coming through Greenville and Charleston, probably in April, and will have just a couple days in each place to decide if I might want to live there. What should I do and where should I go to get an accurate feel for the towns? My background: I'm a married twenty-something. We both work from home so employment isn't really a concern. We like to garden, catch live shows at small-ish venues, and spend a lot of time outdoors. We want to live in town, not in a suburb, and preferably in a neighborhood with some retail/restaurants/bars within walking distance. Inexpensive neighborhoods with some funky, eclectic character preferred. Thanks in advance! | | Sunday, January 13th, 2008 | 10:45 pm [ianpossible] |

two rooms available in house in Forest Acres
We're looking for two people or a couple to take over our part of a lease on a house. There are 2 rooms available in our 4 bedroom house. Rent is $325 a person plus utilities. The house is in Forest Acres in a nice and quiet neighborhood. It is 15 minutes at the most from downtown and close to both 20 and 77. There is a huge backyard that overlooks a small lake. Pets are welcome. If interested, please comment and I'll get in touch with you and we can set up a time for you to come and see the house! | | Thursday, July 26th, 2007 | 1:50 pm [mintchocolate9]

Beaufort/Jasper County residents
I'm relocating to the Beaufort/Jasper county area and was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of looking up apartments/housing on the internet. I've only been able to find a few listings and I want to get some research done before I head down there to check things out in person. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :) Current Mood: bored |
