Stopped overnight at that Swiss campground next to the nice lake, had a swim, next day drove down to Genova.
Heavy traffic, stop-and-go around Milano (seeing the Olymic traffic signs at Como and Milano exits made me smile), nothing serious. But I'm glad I break up the drive like that, less stress.
Genova, boarding, cabin. No wifi.
...
WTF? No wifi???
Talked to reception, nope, no wifi.
I NEED A BOOK! *SCRAMBLES BACK TO THE CADDY TO GET ONE* (made it just before they closed the garage for passage)
Arrived on Sardinia on Friday morning, the day before the SwimTrek started, because there is a nice outdoor market on Frday mornings in Palau.
Yes, there are the ubiquitous stalls selling junk, but also farmers with fruit and veg, locally grown cork and wood carvings, cheese and cured meats, pottery, fabrics...
pics - saved* because I kept whatsapping my mother, teasing, I was buying presents for her and my father ;)

and a nice pillowcase for myself

Wandered around town a bit, stopped by the dive shop that supplies the boats and captain for SwimTrek, booked dives with them for the next moring... it would be SwimTrek Day 1, but as that just means checking into the hotel and there's a meet and safety information thing at 5 in the afternoon, plenty of time to go diving!
Next, settling down for the night at that great campground I was at last year.
...
Camping full (locally managed campground, reservations not possible)
they send me to the other campground in town, situated not quite as nicely, but they had room, so found a nice spot, went for a swim, went to the bathroom to clean up...
... and killed my phone.
Odyssey to be continued! ;)
