Mashups take all your dirtiest musical secrets, feed them a few Jager Bombs, dress them up in sequins and ridiculous shoes, and celebrate them on the dancefloor with a sick bass drop, an ass shake, and a laugh with your best friends. Come to the party and DANCE.

Looking for something to do that isn't late night tonight (because I know where I'll be late night... Crown Room on nw 4th and davis to dance to some deep bass and hopefully super fun drums)?
The Human Canvas Project #1 was a live show turned into a movie/dvd/bluray, and is being played for one night only at Cinema 21 in about an hour and a half. We took 17 women, got them nude/semi nude, painted them white, gave general movement directions and leeway to play... then projected video from multiple different sources onto them, the canvas. All while Sad Music for Happy Humans made live electronic/analog music for the movements and visuals to go to.
Our video guy Vortex took that into the editing room for a LONG (oy, so long) time and made a pretty sweet audio/visual presentation out of it. If you want a storyline there isn't one (although this year's live show will have one), if you want a neat looking spectacle with a fun soundtrack we have GOT that. ;)
Feel free to join our after movie crew as we head out for dinner and dancing later.
So yeah... didn't think a wednesday would have much going on? Let us show you how fun they can be!

This is definitely a party for NW Party Kids! Crazy visuals and some sweet electronic music....
Tonight is our last rehearsal before the day of, and things are going GREAT!
We've all put a lot of time, effort and yes, even money into making this happen. It happens at the Fez Ballroom (316 sw 11th) THIS THURSDAY August 21st, and only costs 7 bucks.
This, of course, being many girls nude/semi nude onstage painted white, with video/images/etc projected onto them from 5 or so sources while my musical outfit, Sad Music for Happy Humans, makes thick mindfuck music that builds to utilizing dubstep/dnb/electro/live sampled drum beats. Since this is happening
Afterwards will be some sweet IDM/breakbeat music by the esteemed DJ Tan't, and longtime Portland music makers Ryze + Fall and DJ Harp will be giving us all some great LIVE Drum and Bass and Dubstep to dance the night away with.
I do hope you'll all attend, there is a great buzz going on about this show and I think it's going to end up being fabulous! But it will be moreso if YOU are there.... come say hi!

Time to get back in the van, as Rhymesayers presents the Truth Is Here Tour featuring Brother Ali, Abstract Rude, Toki Wright, and BK-One.
They will be playing an all-ages show in Portland on Tuesday March 11 at the Hawthorne Theater. Doors open at 8:00 pm and the show starts at 9:00 pm. Tickets are $13.50 in advance and $15 at the door.
