Part 4: Remains - Decision time for Nathan and Duke -- and Audrey -- to try to map out a future for Haven... and themselves.

Notes: This is the last part, and since there is a definitive conclusion here, bear in mind that I am drawing the threads to a close while ignoring a good deal of the solutions that were suggested in season 5 canon, the first draft of the story having been written before those reveals. In a way, it's academic whether much of the information revealed in season 5 is true or not in this 'verse, because Nathan and Duke and co. don't have that knowledge and can only speculate in the absence of it.

Summary: After everything that has happened, with William and Audrey temporarily removed from the equation, Nathan and Duke have a brief window to try and fix their relationship, while Dwight and Nathan and HPD try to fix Haven, and figure out where they all go from here.

After Forever is a Haven fanfiction exchange to explore post-finale or alternate finale possibilities!

This is a fic exchange done a little bit differently. As well as requesting and offering pairings and characters, we will use a set of freeform tags to build 'recipes' for preferred alternate finale scenarios or just to explore what happened in the context of where canon left us when the final(e) credits rolled.

Examples are too spoilery to provide but you can view the tag set here.

Troubled Tales will run again later in the year as a fic exchange with a broader purview, but in the meantime, I thought this exercise of a small exchange might help us out with some post-finale closure.

I am a little later promoting this than planned, but there is still plenty of time to sign up! Sign ups end 31st March. Assignments will be due in May. Fics only need to be 1000 words minimum.

NOTES: Slightly canon divergent late season 1 setting where Audrey already knows she's immune to Troubles. Second of two mid-length Duke/Nathan fics written while I was supposed to be doing NaNoWriMo. The Trouble in this one was inspired by the Farscape episode Thank God It's Friday... Again.

SUMMARY: Duke and Nathan's life together, twenty years on. AU from end season 4.
NOTES: Written for Miah_Arthur in Troubled Tales 2015. Original prompt:
The Troubles permanently ended. However they ended it meant that Mara/Audrey left with them.
Duke didn't survive the ending of the Troubles intact. Either repeated killing of the Troubled to save the town and the resulting addiction left him permanently mentally damaged, or something that happened before the end left him permanently seriously disabled in some other way (can work with the ending of 5A or ignore it entirely). Duke was left unable to independently care for himself.
Nathan was left with the logical results of the numerous injuries he sustained and largely ignored, along with a nervous system that never did quite work properly again.
I want a story that has this as a background, set many years in the future when they have a quiet life of depending on each other.

To participate in the exchange you need to offer a minimum of three pairings, gen combinations of characters, or characters that you are willing to write solo, and in return, make a minimum of three requests for stories. Result: everyone should get matched up to a writer who will create a story for their pairing or character or ensemble of choice!

Stories only need to be 1000 words long (or upwards is fine! just not less!) and you have until 19th July to complete your story, which is oodles of time for 1000 words.

NOTES #2: This is the middle installment of a trilogy, and I ask that people bear with the issues that remain unresolved in it, because a lot of things are building to be addressed in the third and final story.
