still getting away with it

I saw A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Globe on Thursday. It was a fantastic experience, one of my favourite performances I've seen. It was much more interactive than the previous plays I've seen (Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth, As You Like It, Much Ado About Nothing, Richard III...), which maybe isn't surprising, but it was new for me. Also got standing tickets rather than seated tickets (because it's cheaper, lol), which is new. And tiring. It's a wonderful experience, though, well worth the £5.

Yesterday was... interesting. Blah, blah, new pope elected; what's odd about that is I'd already spent the day thinking about the papacy. No, I'm not Catholic - I'm just too invested in medieval Christianity for my own good. I'd spent the morning looking at conflict between the Franciscan Spirituals and the papacy, and then when I got home I decided it would be a good idea to watch Conclave (2024), which I have smartly been putting off doing for nearly a year. Once I'd finished the film, I checked Tumblr... and the news that the conclave (real-life) was over was out. Definitely more interesting than Real Life.
