Dueltastic wrote Circumstances of a Small and Accidental Nature as a challenge to herself to see if it was possible to write a kidfic in character, with more realism than you typically see - and she succeeded beautifully. (If you haven't read it, and you get a chance, you really should check it out!)

I can't remember where this commentversation happened, but I think it was orlando_switch who thought it would be fun to see the Christmas photo given out by Severus and Minerva... Well, I've jumped back in time a few minutes (magic!) to riiiight before they Apparate to the photographer's.

From the story:
"I have to see this year's," said Pomona. She hunted through the pile until she found the gift labelled 'To Aunt Pomona' and aimed a tidy little unwrapping spell at it. "Just a peek."

"You're worse than a present-shaker," said Filius mournfully.

"Yes, but it's worth it," she said. She turned the photo around. In the frame, two very tall people stood in black robes, with black hair and severe expressions. Coming up to their waists was a small black-haired boy, in a garish combination of pale green dungarees and a pink-and-white striped shirt, clapping gleefully as he reached for the charmed butterflies the photographer used to make him smile. In the photograph, the corner of Minerva's mouth twitched very slightly upward.

"Minerva's definitely the one picking them," said Septima.
