Overall Thoughts:

This is a very beginner-friendly anime that would be great to recommend for anyone interested in fantasy. While Witch Hat Atelier can be a bit slow-paced at times, the show's charming magic system, combined with excellent world-building, keeps the viewer coming back for more.

Plot/Story: 7/10

The overall plot is fairly simple and closely follows the standard hero’s journey structure. The anime chooses to focus on world-building first, letting the story develop as the viewer learns about the world. As a result, at times the show’s pace feels slow and takes on a slice-of-life nature.

Characters: 7/10

Since Witch Hat Atelier relies so much on the ...

It's a cute slice of life about two kids in a sort of post-apocalyptic world with very little human life (we only find out people except them exist in a post-credits scene). Currently, it's free to watch on Youtube, although the title says something about being for a limited time only.

It establishes the world really well. I didn't know too much about the premise when I started watching it, since I had seen the trailer months ago and had mainly forgotten, but it doesn't outright say anything about their situation. As you follow the two, you learn more and more about them and about the ...

Just finished Everyday Host today, cannot say that I've ever seen a more unique anime ever! Very good anime about the life of a host in a hostclub following hajime, whom I just find to be such an entertaining main character! I really enjoyed the art style used in it - I felt as if it brought immense amounts of life to each individual character included. It worked very well with the more 'animated' characters (Mio, Koichi) & it allowed for more expression and create even more hilarious scenes! I wish that it had more episodes to talk about the other hostclub (not trillion) cus ...

I am positively impressed with this anime, i came in expecting slop and it ended up being quite fun!

The female lead is incredibly stupid, but not in a disney way, instead, she feels a lot more real and emotional, she makes mistakes that actually fuck with the male lead quite a lot, given, everything does end up going her way, but that just comes with the territory that 12 episode 1 season shows provide.

While the show did not break any new ground with any plot thread, I believe that they more than made up for it with overall pacing and the overarching story being told, ...

This show is so unbearably lame, I genuinely don't know how people watch anything like this and feel a connection to any of these lame characters. Obviously, people can be shy, but the way this show portrays Sawako as such an unbearable person. Imagine someone genuinely acting like that near you, and all the other characters find it cute, "I'm so shy that when everyone treated me like a ghost, I decided to act like one." What type of 4th-grade plot is this that the first 2 episodes revolve around? It pains me to watch this show because of how cringey it truly is, and ...

This anime really pushes the envelope by empowering fat women all around the world through a beautiful story about brain damage induced body positivity.
The explanation is that she literally hit her head falling from a 4-story building and miraculously gained confidence in her built to survive a car crash body.

I’ll like to say I’m not fat phobic I’m just presenting the facts like always no bias.
I can’t speak on the behalf of the wider audience this anime appeals to, but this anime has got to be satire and the whole production team is in on it.
Like when Druski dressed up as Erika Kirk (Wolf ...

This anime is really boring, it makes you say "uh it's just another girlish drama, just another anime about a dumb boy that some how all girls fall for him", everything about this anime is ordinary and watching it makes you suffer, like to me it felt like I'm totally wasting my time but since I had nothing better to do I watched it to the very end, and that one last episode, it surprises you. It makes you double-check if you're watching the correct anime or not. It's no longer about a boring anime about some school girls, pure madness walks in and it's ...

I would have been more invested if anything past the first episode convinced me any of these characters actually liked each other.

Girls Band Cry is a show carried entirely by the individual charm of its characters. Their interactions with each other are decidedly less interesting. I have no idea why any of these girls wants to be in a band together, since their interactions are only characterised by tepid melodrama. Frankly I think they would all be better off if they never spoke to each other again. Each alone is a fun character, but together they're a toxic mess. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, ...

100% worth watching in the present day still, the animation, music and story all hold up. Some of the best animation from shaft it has a unique art style that suits it well. The story is like if you were blindfolded on a rollercoaster, you don't know where its going next. Even in the first few minutes it does not pull its punches.

An anime that kept on giving episode after episode its only real weak point was its ending. The ending was very dissatisfying and felt very rushed and to be honest it leaves you with even more questions than you had throughout watching it. ...

If you're looking for a so bad its good anime then this is a good pick. In every other department besides art it fails. Its pacing is pretty bad and I don't really mean how the fast the story progresses that's fine but just the way people talk and conversate in general. Its very typical and follows the trope of minutes of talking during a fight or intense situation. The main character is also adapted horribly at least in the manga she isn't that scared but the anime turns it up 10x.

Overall if you're looking for something to laugh at and make fun of ...

Pretty much binged watched this anime in one day. It's well written and I haven't even read the shoujo manga yet. I honestly really loved and would recommend a watch. I can't say it'll be everyone's cup of tea but it was really great in my opinion.

I'm not going to give any spoilers, but this is a bit of a gender-bender anime, so if that's not your thing. Do not watch. Although the MC is a girl pretending to be a guy & the LI is a guy. It still kind of caters to BL themes. So, if that really isn't your thing. I ...

I only started watching it because of the JoJo references... and I don't regret it. Haha.

To be completely honest, what made me give Aharen-san wa Hakarenai a chance was the countless clips showing references to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I thought it would just be an anime that made the occasional joke, but I ended up finding a really charming romantic comedy that was far more entertaining than I expected.

The premise is extremely simple: we follow the relationship between Aharen and Raidou, two classmates who struggle to read social cues and end up navigating all sorts of everyday situations. It sounds like a standard synopsis, but ...

A baseball special?

I admit that when I found out this My Hero Academia ONA was basically a baseball game, I was taken aback. It’s the kind of special that clearly isn't essential to the main story and exists solely as casual entertainment for the franchise's fans.

The premise is simple: pro heroes, U.A. students, and other familiar characters play a baseball game, using their Quirks to turn an ordinary sport into a real spectacle. The idea actually has the potential for creative moments and funny scenes, especially when imagining how a traditional sport would work in a world where practically everyone has superpowers.

The animation is competent ...

Ridiculous is an understatement when it comes to this show.

Ridiculous Reincarnation is a anime that consists of parody galore. They make fun of other isekais and provide meta commentary.

What this means is that this show's entire bread and butter is the comedy. Sure there are a few... serious? moments.... Or at least some attempts? The overarching plot is something that resolves itself,so giving it any more thought is a pointless endeavour. The comedy... It's hit or miss honestly. I've watched funnier shows that didn't try this hard to be honest. My deer Friend nokotan comes off the top of my head.

This is yet another anime where the author didn't want to commit to anything. No matter what you go into this one expecting to find, I think you'll be disappointed in not really getting it. It's got too much fanservice and romantic subplot stuff if you just want a relaxing Slice of Life, but if you want romance, it doesn't execute it well or deliver anything. It's honestly a real problem in anime like this where they try to make it for as many audiences as possible, and want to drag it out for as long as possible so they can sell more volumes/issues/seasons. There ...

Issa a greaat anime for those who got tired of redacted MC's and wanna have some nice watch after.
I suggest to give it a try to anyone, just great imo and technicaly executed on a really good level.
Characters are kinda pretty flat except for MC, but cuteness and kindness compensates for everything else.
A bit of absurdity helped a story.
Story is kinda unique for nowadays, romantic comedy in a fantasy setting without harems and some nice animations:)
I personally binged it, and art style is really for me. I'm looking forward to more works of that studio.

What a great show! It's an approachable introduction to Rakugo for viewers who may not know much about it, while respecting the audience and not dumbing things down. All with fun characters and presentation.

It was fun to see a show with some more subtle acting from the voice actors, even with a lot of the cast being fairly recognizable. I liked how when the characters were supposed to be doing sub-par performances for whatever reason, it wasn't overdone but was believable that they were trying their best. And when they were doing well it stood on its own as impressive. The energy of the show ...

This anime wasn't as bad as the internet had said. The story was unique in a way. At least the background of MC, and the goal was unlike any I had seen before. It is predictable in how things will turn out whenever anything big happens, it still remained entertaining through it.
The characters themselves weren't hollow or one-minded.
And although budget cuts were visible here and there, and the cgi will definitely make people turn, but the story and premise were interesting and the plot remained entertaining, even if cliche at moments. Overall, would recommend to try it out. The jokes can get spicy, but isekai ...

At first glance, Yofukashi might come off as just another coming of age show. It has all of the ingredients to pass off just another work with a high budget but ultimately mediocre contents. But there’s a stark difference between Yofukashi and its contemporaries: it understands the subtleties of what it means to be lost. Especially in one’s youth, when hormones run rampant, the last thing people need in order to find themselves is to have their thoughts drowned out by the noise of rules and regulation which make up daytime society. Yofukashi utilizes the night as a safe haven for these people, granting them ...

Weak main character.

6 years too late but whatever.

I really struggled with this show.

I am 2 seasons in and don't know what the main character is doing to drive this story forward. His fight scenes are reduced to one kind of attack and his battle IQ, or lack thereof, makes for an uninteresting watch. His main motivation of finding his mom and saving his brother are, by in large, inconsequential to the plot.

I find the side characters more intriguing, particularly Joker and Benimaru. A pity I see them less than the main cast.

The first season seemed more focused and tied to our main character and had ...

Potential. Potential is the word that really defines this story. Unfulfilled one, and that’s just a shame. The capital sin of the series is the use of nebulous symbolism that ends up confusing the narrative, as it leaves too many open-ended questions. With what information we have, it is impossible to come to our own conclusions. It is a story that is very close to being excellent, but ends up falling short.
I will start with the parts that are not plot related and finish with real problem (the plot)

"I know things can't continue like this forever, but at the same time I also want to remain like this. Although I know it isn't realistic, I keep thinking that suddenly, one day, a surprise will occur and everything will resolve itself."

Welcome to the N.H.K. is a hard watch for me, in a good way, though, since the core message of the anime is meant to be the uncomfortable truth of real life. This anime tries its best to show that it has a story with depth and meaning, which may seem so on the surface. In short, it is a harem anime in which the hero tries to help girls solve their problems, and during the time he tries to help the girls, there are cheap romantic moments and endless drama. Each girl has her own psychological problem, and he is their savior.

The problem is that this anime is repetitive, as it is like the hero of the Elite Classroom anime, Ayankoji, like the hero of the Monagatri anime, Aragi, and like the hero of the My ...

Man, I really wanted to like this anime. Like, genuinely. I went in after seeing the trailers. Gorgeous art, that classic Miyajima style from Rent A Girlfriend, a big family of attractive siblings in a fancy Tokyo mansion. Sounded like it could be a fun, messy rom com with some emotional weight. I cleared my weekend, popped some snacks, and binged all 12 episodes Ended up giving it a 4 out of 10. Oof.

Do not get me wrong, the animation and visuals are straight up stunning. Doga Kobo did a fantastic job. The character designs pop, backgrounds feel rich and lived in, and those little ...

Dororo is an anime that could have been a true masterpiece with a little more refinement. Its pacing, storytelling, and fight scenes are all remarkably well executed, making it a highly enjoyable series. However, considering it was released in 2019, I expected stronger animation and a more memorable soundtrack.

One of the series' greatest strengths is how vividly it portrays the darkest aspects of its era, immersing the audience in feudal Japan. I especially appreciated this atmosphere. At the same time, the story presents its moral conflicts through shades of gray, making it difficult to completely side with either faction (with the exception of Hyakkimaru's father).

With my final score ending up nearly three full points below what the consensus here on MAL seems to be I'll immediately concede some of my opinions on this movie may be unpopular, but it simply didn't do it for me. Throughout the entirety of my viewing I was varying levels of bored. Sure, you get the occasional street chase or violent confrontation, so it isn't a complete Serial Experiments Lain level of snoozefest, but it never ramps up the excitement or the stakes beyond a handful of moments like that. I think saying there's an actual STORY here is a bit generous as well. ...

This anime is very lackluster and does not really do anything new. The conflict introduced in the first episode is not resolved onscreen, while both the emotional beats of the story and the characters themselves feel underdeveloped.

There is admittedly only so much that can be done in three episodes, but I do not think the series utilizes its limited format as effectively as it could have. One hour is still a decent amount of time to tell a compelling story and get the audience invested, yet the anime largely fails to do either.

The characters feel flat, with only a shallow, surface-level sense of depth. At ...

If you are looking for a dark fantasy that is both brutally heartbreaking and deeply beautiful, Dororo is an absolute must-watch.The premise hooks you right from the start. We follow a young man who was robbed of almost everything at birth and his journey to reclaim what is rightfully his. What makes this anime so special isn't just the bloody demon hunting, but the emotional core of the story. The dynamic is the absolute heart and soul of the show. Their bond feels incredibly organic, bringing a much-needed warmth to an otherwise cruel and war-torn world. Visually, MAPPA did a fantastic job. The soundtrack, especially ...

I think it’s an excellent watch for something easy, slightly spooky, and short to watch. I watched it within a night, very easy and has a sweet yet captivating plot. The main character sort of reminds me of a more wholesome version of ciel phantom hive. It’s a pretty goated anime if you are again a fan of the animes I’ve listed. It’s a cute anime featuring characters who already like each other and are aware of it from the start, yet are too insecure and proud to admit it.
It seems fun at first—I absolutely love *Kaguya-sama: Love Is War* and thought this would be similar, but I was mistaken.
The show has very sweet moments, and you keep waiting for character development and growth... but it never happens. They do make progress regarding "shared experiences," though even that gets a bit distorted since they aren't officially in a romantic relationship.

Episodes 1 & 2 are nothing special, there are some enjoyable aerial action scenes but a lot of it is a bit too shounen for my tastes. The worst parts are in a big, boring, loosely connected subplot in Tokyo that takes up a lot of screen time.

But they are worth plowing through for the amazing feature length finale which explores how war changes a man, in addition to some great animation capped off with an ambiguous but entirely appropriate ending. The only downsides are the Tokyo parts, whose resolution made the whole subplot feel mostly pointless.

You could probably make a good movie cutting off ...

This OVA was a dark comedy about an evil sadistic magical girl arriving on Earth (school setting) and defeating people with spells or.. melee combat.
All the characters were quite basic, including the main one. The stories were episodic without continuity except for new characters (but magically healed and friendly). And of course there wasn't any proper ending.
Animation and music were decent.

This anime was ok, but it felt less funny (and less fanservicy) than Dokuro-chan and kinda more mean spirited (the bone-breaking moments were brutal for a comedy).

Only for people who need some dark humor, but already saw the better titles.

Watching the first season all the back during the Summer 2024 season was a surprise. It is super unique to the point I woke up on time to watch the newest episodes before going to my job at the time. The world, premise and motivations of the cast is beautiful.

(Actual score - 9.5/10)

Overall, it was an amazing experience - with a very strong "makes you feel good" vibe.

ARTSTYLE / DESIGNS

- Stunning, absolutely stunning; everything looked realistic enough, but at the same time it all had a very distinct hand-drawn vibe to it, like colored pages from an illustration book. Every single thing - and I mean everything, from backgrounds, through small details in them, to characters themselves & their outfits - was a pleasure to look at, with how beautiful it was.

Was looking for CGDCT and found this MASTERPIECE.

Sora no Woto is one of animes most overlooked hidden gems, its a masterpiece that mixes slice of life, drama, and post apocalyptic themes and CGDCT (which is the thing i like). Like most people who probably watched the 1st episode, this anime seems like a "Moe-flop" kind of show, it looks like and feels like a lighthearted anime about "Cute Girls Doing Cute Things" in the military. Well its still is, but that first impression is one of the most misleading things of this anime.

I thought social justice warriors died with the purchase of Twitter, yet here they are spamming 5s because an anime shows a minor character and critize a character that not only doesn't try anything weird with said minor, but also has a credible development and overflows with charisma.

Nevertheless of morals, there's something called suspension of disbelief, with which you can watch a series without troubling youserlf with objectionable topics, or maybe just don't watch the series. However, such people (normies) like to misinterprete the entire series.

Honestly, Marriagetoxin had all the makings of not being made for me. A shounen battle anime combined with what you could only describe as a harem main protagonist? I really didn't think the show could work for me. But despite that, it was probably my biggest surprise of the Spring season, because it took these elements and made them work in a way that I wouldn't have expected. The first 2 seasons of this series were fun and exciting to watch, and seeing the characters fool around would always make me laugh, but I didn't get that from this season. There are plenty of reasons I love this anime, but the main point that people tend to miss on their first watch through is the one that I point out when recommending it to other people. (Slight spoiler warning in the 2nd paragraph)

The thing about this anime is how it blends together comedy, romance, and deep moments all into one. A clear example of this is when Nasa is working, he talks about how people don't realize many things, especially about themselves. Which is why, when they do notice something, its often too late. ramparts of ice (season 1) should be the new golden standard for the romance genre. in a way, this anime has a typical story. but the execution is beyond typical, in the best way possible.

i'll start with the story now that i've mentioned it. it's a typical high school romance with your usual bells and whistles. but the way this anime handles drama is so satisfying. it uses misunderstanding to amplify drama in a realistic and believable manner, then it solves drama with realistic and believable communication between characters. it never creates drama in an unnatural way or solves drama with unnecessary grandiose. as someone ...

This is what happens when you write something from a single, limited point of view.

The creators clearly have a specific scene in mind, and they will sacrifice everything else just to force it to happen. In the span of three minutes, you are introduced to a brand-new concept, you watch the main character use it to "aura farm," and then it completely loses all relevance to the world.

This flaw applies to every single character. They all seem to think only within the exact perspective of that specific scene. There is no logical reason for a character to behave or think that way, other than it ...

Vivy is a series that reached for greatness and fell like Icarus—bold, but lacking the rigor to fulfill its ambition.

The story explores a complex existential conflict, questioning what truly makes us human while searching for the elusive line between simulation and genuine consciousness. There are no definitive answers to that question, but the implications of asking it expose the fragile seams of an imperfect society.
