She'll be missed.

An obituary which hints at the energy and vibrance of her life.

A friend's mother has written several books over the years, very slowly, and has in the past been able to find traditional publishing paths for all of them. After a long and struggle-filled process, her book on Frances Trollope and American culture is nearly ready to go, and publishing has changed so much that we are not confident of finding a home for it. She is 92 and we really want to get it into some form of print soon. Given how slowly she writes, we are desperately trying to keep her from adding a chapter on the unpleasant events of January 6, as she writes and revises very slowly and doing so in an evolving situation would probably prolong the publication date to never.

I'm wondering whether anyone in flist or outside it knows of some business that will design and correctly format for various platforms and post ebooks. Services that cost money are fine, quality and effectiveness are highly valued in this case.

If anyone can think of academic presses or small presses or anyplace of that sort that might be interested in seeing the ms, I'd of course appreciate that also; I have been winnowing and searching and it seems easy to overlook small presses that could be a good fit.
