Fairly new to the Monkey Island fandom, and just found this community last week. I was kinda sad that the posts had begun to taper off, though. :( Here's a quick sketch of Stan and Guybrush. Tales of Monkey Island
Chapter 3 is the best yet. Not because a certain character returns (though I know many people will be thrilled about it), but because this has some of the most inventive puzzles. No more insult swordfighting, yay! (That was fun the first time, not so much afterward.) But really good puzzles and genuine laugh-out-loud moments throughout. Two hooks up! Current Mood:  jubilant |

More Monkey Madness: A Monkey Island Remix Fanmix
The third of this year's Monkey Island fanmixes! This is a collection of fan music for the Monkey Island series of games. Some of these may no longer be available on the web. All told, you've got 33 (count 'em) 33 individual MI fan tracks from different artists! Because almost all of these are instrumental, lyric samples would be pointless, so instead I'll do mini-reviews of each track. All tracks with artist listed as "unknown" are just that - the copies I have do not list artist information. If anyone knows an artist on an "unknown", please let me know! Bigger art and tracklisting and reviews are all at my LJ, under the fake cut!

SHANTY TIME!
Avast me hearties! It be past the hour of the damned and I'm damned to waking... Away from the rhythmic rocking of the sea, I'm finding it hard settle and sleep. My mind is tossing like a shipwreck in monsoon season! It's turning like Davy Jones in his watery grave! It's turbulent like a storm a-brewing... In my hyperactive insomniac state, I tried to think of what might soothe the savage beast that is my mind, and it came to me like an answer from Poseidon himself - a good sea shanty!Thus I ask thee, fellow seafarers, if one of you could send* me a shanty to lull me to sleep like the lap of the waves against the pirate ship's sides...even a good rousing shanty! Best Food for Playing?
Ok people in your opinion, what would be the ideal food to eat while playing Monkey Island? I have booked a week off work to relive the glory days with my younger bro, starting with Monkey3 as that's the one I've played least recently. And I thought it would be cool to stock up on appropriately Monkey-like and Carribean-like nourishment to fortify us through this time of puzzlement. But really I think everyone could enhance their lives by co-ordinating their diet with their gaming. So this list is to benefit everyone who wants to keep the dream alive! I am vegan but it's worth suggesting things of all food groups as my bro is not plus half the people reading this probably only live off flesh so it's worth covering all bases. I was thinking along these lines so far: Mango
Pineapple
Coconut slices
Coconut Milk
Lemonade (little Faulmouth sells it in Monkey3)
Roast chicken
Gobstoppers (one of the barbers has one)
Good soup (which would be what?)
Cheese Fonduewhat other ideas do people have? Doesn't have to be things that are in the game, just that would capture the vibe of it and complement playing! (crossposted to monkeyislanders) |
