Hello, everyone! It’s your mod here! And it is time to get this comm in gear for another year. Welcome to mini_wrimo 2025. One of these years I will have an uneventful October and will get signups up at the beginning of the month. But the good news is you can sign up now!!

I hope you are all geared up to make the most of November and get some awesome word counts logged.

Maybe you just want to get some words on paper. Maybe you’re gearing up for a big bang or similar challenge. Maybe you want to get in the habit of writing every day. Maybe you just want to bring something fabulous, wonderful, and positive into a year that has otherwise been grim and unprecedented and a lot of other trite and tiresome words that mean things have generally sucked. (Your mod apologizes for the editorializing. I’m just thrilled to have you all back.) Whatever your reason, if you want to take the month of November to write, but do not want to commit to an onerous word count, this is the comm for you. You can sign up with as few as 100 words per day!

Without further ado, it’s time for mini_wrimo!

I am pleased to announce the [community profile] mini_wrimo comm is open for business again! If you've wandered by and aren't sure what mini-wrimo is about, you can find our mission statement on our profile page, here.

What does this mean?

Sign-Ups begin! (Our signup post is up!) Signups will continue until November 10th in order to ensure everyone who wants to has time to sign up.)

Have an idea? A question? Want to help out? This is the place to do it! Drop a note in the comments here or send a PM to the mod account.

This post is for SIGNUPS ONLY. If you have questions for the mods, please go here to ask them.

Okay, so this is how it works:

This challenge runs from November 1 to November 30th. The goal is to write something every day for thirty days. What that something is, is up to you. All fandoms or original work is welcome, all pairings, all genres. Sounds simple enough, right?

What YOU need to do:

1. JOIN THE COMMUNITY. I cannot emphasize this enough. You need to JOIN THE COMMUNITY or you will not be able to see the daily prompt posts! Because of your mod’s late start, signups will remain open through November 10. Signups by people who have not joined the community will not be tracked.

2. COMMENT TO THIS POST. Make a comment to this post with your daily word commitment. Minimum commitment is 100 words per day, every day, for 30 days. There is no max, but try to keep it real.

Reminder: everything you do in this comm revolves around the subject line of your comment. You will need to go to the comm to input information as some LJ Styles do not show/give a subject line when commenting.

When commenting to this post, use the following format:
Subject: Sign Up: [username], [word count]

Example: Sign Up: Paleogymnast, 100

3. REPORT IN EVERY DAY. When the prompt post for the day goes up, comment with your word count for the day, in the required format (more on that later). If you like, you can also include a sample of your writing or a link to it, but you are not required to show your work.

And that's it. Your friendly neighborhood mods will take care of the rest, tracking your count and reporting days. At the end of the month, we'll post the (positive) results.

So, come on! Sign up! Get your friends to sign up! You know you wanna! (*psst* It’ll be fun!!)

It’s Go time!

[community profile] mini_wrimo 2021 is now in session! Our November 1 prompt post is up, and comments are open for you to report your word count.

Late sign-ups will remain open through November 10. Please encourage your friends to sign up if they have not already done so.

As a reminder…
This post is public as are our sign-up and welcome posts. Daily prompt posts are set to members only. If you cannot see the Day 1 prompt post when this message goes up, that means you have forgotten to join the community.

Please make sure you both sign up and join the community.

Also, make sure you sign up and join the community on the correct platform—this challenge runs simultaneously on both Dreamwidth and Livejournal, so make sure you are on the same site as where you signed up so you can see the members’ only prompt posts and report your word count!

Thanks for your participation! And happy writing!

Greetings! For those of you who have signed up already, I hope your November writing is off to a good start.

(If you have not signed up yet, there is still time to do so; signups will remain open through November 10.)

Now for the important reminder…

DON’T FORGET TO JOIN THE COMMUNITY!

If you have signed up, but have not joined the comm, you will not be able to see the daily check-in posts, amnesty posts, or other challenge-related and important posts.

[community profile] mini_wrimo is members only. Once signups close, (ideally) I go through and purge memberships of folks who have not signed up. That way, our writing and progress is a little more private. At this point, I have not purged last year’s memberships because signups are still open. So if you have signed up before, you are likely still a member of the comm and will remain a member after signups close.

If this is your first time signing up, you need to join. I try to approve all membership requests promptly (usually within a couple of hours), and if it has been more than 24 hours since you applied and you have still not been joined, send me a PM. It probably means either I missed the request or the platform is being screwy.

But, please remember this community/challenge operates on both Livejournal and Dreamwidth. If you have signed up in the past on Dreamwidth and now sign up on Livejournal, you need to join the LJ comm. If you don’t you will not be able to see the check-in posts on Livejournal. Similarly, if you have signed up in the past on Livejournal and sign up this year on Dreamwidth, you need to join the DW comm. Otherwise, you will not be able to see the daily check-in posts on Dreamwidth!

I don’t care which comm you use—please sign up where you feel most comfortable commenting—but do remember you need to sign up, join, and comment, at the same community (either LJ or DW). If you don’t, you might miss out! We don’t want that! So join now (if you haven’t already)!

Thanks, and happy writing!

So come on! Sign up! Get your friends to sign up! You know you wanna! (*psst* It’ll be fun!!)

Hello, everyone! It’s your new mod here! And it is time to get this comm in gear for another year.

I am pleased to announce the [community profile] mini_wrimo comm is open for business again! If you've wandered by and aren't sure what mini-nano is about, you can find our mission statement on our profile page, here.

What does this mean?

We are officially accepting new members again!

Spread the word, [community profile] mini_wrimo is coming! This is fun! Exciting! November is our month to get that pesky writing project finished (or off to a good start). So sign up today (well as soon as I get the sign-up post up!) and tell all your friends and get them to join too. It will be awesome; I promise!

Sign-Ups begin! (Our sign up post is up. And sign ups will continue until November 8. But the challenge starts on November 1, so please sign up early if you can.)

Your lovely mod is also looking for some help with banners for this challenge! The more the merrier. The more help I get, the faster we will all get recognition and rewards at the end of the challenge! So, if you would like to help with banners for this challenge, they would be most welcome!

If you have any questions, ask them here and we will do our best to answer them promptly. Please make sure you've read our profile info, as it may already have the info you need!

Welcome back! We are going to have a great mini_wrimo for 2018!

This post is for SIGN-UPS ONLY. If you have questions for the mods, please go here to ask them.

Okay, so this is how it works:

This challenge runs from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30th. The goal is to write something every day for thirty days. What that something is, is up to you. All fandoms or original work is welcome, all pairings, all genres. Sounds simple enough, right?

What YOU need to do:

1. JOIN THE COMMUNITY. I cannot emphasize this enough. You must join the community to see the daily prompt posts! You must join the community to sign up! Because this signup post is going up so late, signups will be open through November 8. However, the challenge begins on November 1. Sign ups by people who have not joined the community will not be tracked.

So come on! Sign up! Get your friends to sign up! You know you wanna! (*psst* It’ll be fun!!)

P.S. If you sign up after the challenge starts, but write prior to your sign up, you can still get credit for your writing. Keep an eye out for the amnesty post.
