This is the community for the epic high fantasy tale by E. E. P. Viakien, The Lord of the Reports.
The novel will be posted chapter by chapter as your faithful academics Erin Ptah and Mogget reconstruct the author's intent from early publications and copious research, including recently uncovered correspondences and notebooks. Expect one new chapter every two weeks.
The story was originally published in three volumes (The Fellowship of the Tie, The Two Studios, and The Return of the Host). While it was meant from the beginning to be treated as one complete novel, and will be released all together in this community, we will retain the volume titles for the sake of organization.
(Seriously, it's this crazy Lord-of-the-Rings-slash-Daily-Show crossover written by reseda_ptah and the_mogget. Community membership is limited to the two of us for editing purposes, but everyone is invited to watch the proceedings unfold. Welcome to the top of the nerd pyramid.)
Annotations Book I: The Tie Sets Out Book II: The Tie Goes South Book III: The Treason of Orleansgard Book IV: The Tie Goes West Book V: The War of the Tie Book VI: The Start of the Third Millennium
Erin Ptah (reseda_ptah) draws the art and churns out most of the actual prose (except for the chunks which are Tolkien's own).
She also writes ridiculous amounts of other TDS fic, and draws increasingly odd fanart, much of which can be found here. This is not the most cracktastic crossover she's been involved in, as evidenced by sailorjon.
Mogget (the_mogget) came up with the crossover, requested the art that inspired the rest of this, all but demanded that it be written, and is the source of most of the good ideas puns in it, as well as Lewis Black's lines.
Unlike reseda_ptah, she has almost nothing truly interesting about her out on the internets. The most interesting things would be slash to be found at tds_rps.
She will have a cooler profile once she gets around to writing it over being a self-deprecating paranoid.
This is a work of parody. Although reference is made to real persons and events, the dialog, actions, and content are products of the authors' imaginations only.

In short, this is cribbed from all kinds of people who aren't us. We do it with love. Please don't sue.
