Hello @Linason Blessing thank you for the links. You can link your 'Afro Festival' program to the 'Culture Connect Africa 2025' campaign yourself by following these steps:

1. Go to your Afro Festival program page.
2. Click 'Edit Details' on the Home tab.
3. Scroll to the bottom and find the 'Campaigns' section.
4. Click the '+' button and search for/select 'Culture Connect Africa 2025' click 'Add'
5. Add then 'Save'.

Dashboard emptied

Hello,

We held an event on November 15, and due to the dashboard crash, all of the data appears to have been cleared. I understand that there is currently a backlog of updates, but I was wondering if there is any indication of when our dashboard might be updated again.

Additionally, could there possibly be another issue we should be aware of?

Some user records created after November 14, 2025 were not included in the recovery process. As a result, any students or editors added to this course after that date may not currently appear.

What to do next:

- If you have a list of the editors usernames, please re-add them to the course manually.

- If you don’t have the usernames, you can resend the course enrollment link so that students can re-enroll themselves.

Once the editors have been re-added, the course data will automatically populate with data during the next update cycle.

hope the initial issue you reported about your program showing fewer “Articles Created” than expected has been resolved after the full update.

To answer your second question:

We don’t currently have a feature that supports this directly. The usual approach is to create a new event page with the same users and settings, but limited to the specific time period you want metrics for. Once that event is processed, you’ll be able to view metrics for that desired timeframe.

Hello @Waltercolor. It is completely normal for the Activity tab to continue showing your recent edits after an event ends, as it pulls a live feed of your contributions.

Rest assured, this does not affect your program statistics. The official stats are calculated using a separate data table that only includes edits made between the specific start and end dates you set. You can verify this by checking your course totals you will notice that your "Articles Edited" and "Words Added" counts have remained the same since the workshop concluded.

I find it unacceptable that people can see in real time all my current activities just by looking at this frenzy dashboard. Method to delete multiple 'Available Articles'?

Hi!

I wanted to add a large list of Wikidata items to the list of Available Articles, however, I incorrectly added the full url instead of the Wikidata IDs. This resulted in a large list (>800) of invalid links to the pages. Is there any way to mass remove these instead of time-consuming process of selecting 'Remove' for each one? Any help is greatly appreciated. Hello @RobinIsadorable Unfortunately, there is no built-in way to mass-remove articles on the dashboard. I can run a manual query to clear the list for you, but please note this will delete all existing assignments alongside the invalid links. If you're okay with starting the list from scratch, let me know and I can proceed!

I tried copying an existing program, but either skipped some steps or didn't realize that I was doing it wrong ... and now I can't edit it or even join it. Hello @Chinemeremprince,

The reason your edits are not appearing is that the Dashboard is not currently configured to track the Igbo Wikipedia (or other specific language) Mainspace. By default, the Dashboard only tracks the wikis explicitly added to the program's settings.

To fix this and ensure all contributions are tracked, please follow these steps:

1. Go to your Program Home Page: Click on the "Edit Details" button (usually in the top-right header area below the stats).
2. Locate the "Tracked Wikis" Input field: Ensure that each wiki you are editing is selected (e.g., ig.wikipedia.org, ha.wikipedia.org, etc.).
3. Locate the "Tracked Namespaces:" Input field: For each selected wiki above, ensure the "Mainspace" (Namespace 0) is selected for the corresponding wiki.
   • Example: Set ig.wikipedia.org - Mainspace to track Igbo Wikipedia articles.
4. Save Changes: Scroll up and click "Save".

Wikidata statistics per editor

Hi! The Outreach Dashboard produces very accurate statistics for Wikidata: number of items created, number of claims/labels/descriptions/aliases added/changed/removed, number of qualifiers/references added etc. However, while all these data are displayed in the main page of the dashboard, they cannot be associated with the specific users: when I download the Editors stats, I can only see the number of references added, but not the other metrics. Would it be possible to add also the other metrics to the Editors stats, either directly in the present Editors stats or making available a separate file Wikidata editors stats? Hi @Виолетова I checked the request on the Activity tab and identified a intermittent error where the system was failing to retrieve certain user data, causing the page to fail. Strange behaviour in measuring merges in Wikidata

Hi! I would like to ask a clarification on how Wikidata merges are measured. I am using https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/courses/UCDMonth/Ukraine's_Cultural_Diplomacy_Month_2026/home which, as of now, says 6.08K items have been edited in April, but there are 0 merges. The tracked items are found through https://petscan.wmcloud.org/?psid=44688906. However, hundreds of items have been merged during April, just a few examples here: d:Q3350322, d:Q106319567, d:Q12132691, d:Q81467844, d:Q12100831. @Formasit-chijoh: Could you check? The "0 merges" issue is due to a system backlog. While edits are recorded, the high volume of data has delayed the "deep analysis" needed to identify merges.

Hello @Africany It appears your program has unfortunately been deleted. Because deleted courses cannot be retrieved from our database, you will need to set up a new program.

If you are the program instructor, please follow these steps to get it back up and running:

1. Recreate the Program: Create a new program using the same name, "Wiki Loves Africa 2026." Since the previous version no longer exists, you won't encounter any naming conflicts.
2. Set the Dates: Use the Course Settings to specify the exact start and end dates
3. Enroll Participants: Add your editors/users to the new program. Once they are enrolled, the dashboard will automatically begin backfilling and tracking their contributions made within your specified timeframe.

Issue with statistics download: "This file is being generated"

I am reporting a persistent issue when trying to download the statistics for a program. For the past few days, I have been unable to get the data, and I keep receiving the following message: "This file is being generated. Please try again shortly."

Dashboard not updating?

Hello! The edits for my organization's editathon are not being tracked. The activity tracker seems to be working normally, but the total number of edits that displays at the top of the screen has been stuck at 0 all month. Why might this be? Is there a way to fix this? Wikidata courses with blocked instructor

The following active courses involve Wikidata, but the sole instructor has been blocked on that project since December of last year.

Not only because of the technical restriction caused by the block, but also because of the competence issues underlying the block, I am concerned that this editor is not able to support instruction and training on this project. In turn, this means that course participants are not receiving accurate guidance. I recommend reviewing whether Wikidata should continue to be included in these courses, and whether additional oversight or changes to course leadership are needed. I reviewed the Wikidata contributions of the 20 editors enrolled in the third course listed above. In 8 cases, I had to issue a notability warning. In 5 cases, I blocked the user for continuing to create non-notable items despite earlier warnings and failure to engage with feedback. 65% of these students required administrative intervention for the same issues for which the instructor is currently blocked. I am reporting this campaign and its associated courses to the Dashboard Administrators for immediate review. We will evaluate the most appropriate course of action, which may include removing Wikidata as a tracked project for these courses (as you suggested) or identifying alternative ways to ensure participants receive accurate guidance.

Hi @Samwalton9 (WMF), I'm pinging you here as recommended by @Sage_(Wiki_Ed) to help determine the appropriate moderation response for this situation.

As noted above, we have a campaign where the sole organizer and instructor is currently blocked on Wikidata for competence issues. This has led to a lack of oversight, resulting in several students being warned for repeating the same disruptive editing patterns.

We need to establish a standard process for these cases. I am proposing that we remove wikidata.org from the 'Tracked Wikis' for these specific programs to prevent further disruption. I don't really understand how this can happen, that an editor is blocked on a project for competence issues and five months later is still acting as an instructor for that project and applying for WMF grants to do so. "Articles created" number going down

Hi there - hoping someone can help! We have a long-running group who've been editing for around 4 years, and who've used the same dashboard throughout that time. Recently they've noticed that the "Articles created" number has gone down - it should be well above what it's registering currently. We wondered if perhaps it's because it's been running for so long, and that those "new" articles are no longer being counted as new, but unsure! Lists of training courses

I'm finding the lists of training courses less than optimal. There is a list at https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/training which shows every course available, but doesn't indicate which I have already done (or which might have been updated and I might need to redo). There is also a list at https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/users/Stuartyeates which lists the courses I have completed in an apparently random order and doesn't indicate whether I've done the following course. There is apparently no way to find a useful course to do next. Also, only one out of six of my 'Recent Uploads' seems to actually display. Stuartyeates (talk) 00:59, 18 May 2026 (UTC)

Hi @Stuartyeates thank you for reporting this. It is a matter of intuitively identifying where to go to see the details of your training progress, and I agree that the system needs some improvement to make this clearer.

For each training module here, if you click the green banner with the arrow on a module you have started, you will see your progress marked as completed for those you are done with, or as a percentage for those you are currently taking.

Regarding the list of courses here: these represent all the courses you have participated in (ordered from most recent), either as an editor or as a facilitator. If a course appears on this list, it means you enrolled in it, participated in it, or were added to it by someone else.

Also, with respect to the Recent Uploads issue, there has been a delay in processing your data because some large courses are taking a long time to complete. This issue is currently being looked into, and you should see your uploads very soon.
