BIG NEWS! POPUP SHOP, PHOTOSHOOT and FREE STUFF! 22-29 JUNE 2019!
Hi folks! Holy cow. It's really be a while since our last update - a few things planned have taken a little bit longer than expected, and some developments paused during 2018. But it's now almost halfway through 2019 (another holy cow!) and we finally have some SUPER exciting news. These are: TWO things coming up we would like to announce happening in just a couple of weeks, being: our first ever POPUP SHOP!!!elebentyone!!11!!!!!!! ....and..... a PHOTOSHOOT for our upcoming website revamp for which we are still looking for a couple of folks to be in on the action!! Read on for more info....  POPUP SHOP The WILDILOCKS POPUP SHOP shop will be happening @ 470 Victoria St from 22-29 June (11am-5pm each and every day, including weekends.) - the biggest EOFY sale we've ever had, and actually, biggest sale, PERIOD. We have had overstock of clothing and accessories for a while, and while we rotate stock, we have storage space we really need to clear - and we genuinely, seriously want to just give it away. That's why we're offering ONE FREE ITEM up to the value of $20 from the popup shop per person who rocks up while it's on. How do you you get this item??? Well there's a small catch. Yeah, you knew there'd be a catch. But it's really super-small!! You can either: * Share a link to this post ANYWHEREon social media (yes we're even going to honour FB shares for this) - and show us evidence of this on your phone when you come in to the popup shop or... * come in and grab a flyer from the Wildilocks salon @ 347 Victoria St, during normal opening hours over the next 2 weeks (maybe grab a few more for friends too!), and just bring that flyer with you when you visit the popup shop during 22-29 June. You might find flyers at an event or two or other alternative businesses as well. We really appreciate you helping spread the word for this once off popup shop - it's going to be HUGE. We have all the usual fun goth rockabilly and geeky stuff you've always loved from us, but at up to 90% off retail. Think t-shirts at $5-10, New Rock Boots at $50-$100, rockabilly & vintage style dresses $10-$30, pants & leggings $5-$30, hats $5-$10, bathers $5-$20, jewellery $2- $20, corsets $20-$70 and sooooooo, SO much more. I'm getting tired just thinking of the amount of carrying we have to do to get it all over there.... So yes. Super looking forward to having to NOT carry it back again at the end of the week, so PLEASE COME. Please? =) okay item two: PHOTOSHOOTOn the first day of the popup shop, 22 June, we are also doing a "day in the life of Wildilocks" photoshoot in the salon (while our clothing racks & stock are across the road it's perfect for a photographer to come in!), and we've got spots for a couple more clients on the day - we want this to be a genuine salon day rather than a "staged" shoot, so we've already offered existing clients 30% off salon services, but we've got room for a couple more to join the fun. And not only this discount, but you'll be offered a short studio-style portrait session once your hair is done, including a mini-makeup session, completely free. THE BELLS OF FRIDAY THE 13TH featuring dark new works played live on the FEDERATION BELLS by: FORCES A DEAD FOREST INDEX FRIDAY 13TH APRIL, 10PM FREE ENTRY ALL AGES The Federation Bells is an installation of 39 computer-controlled harmonic bells, originally created in 2001 by Anton Hassel and Neil McLachlan to mark the centenary of Federation. Now, after more than a decade, the bells have been given a new lease of life, with innovative striker mechanisms, new computer controllers and new lids. The result is a remarkable improvement in the bells’ dynamic sensitivity, timing and tone. On Friday 13th April, the bells will be re-launched in an eerie late night event. Two of Melbourne’s most progressive musical outfits, A Dead Forest Index and Forces are creating new musical works for the re-invigorated Federation Bells, to be triggered live alongside voice, guitars, drums and loops. Starting after 10pm, this event is part of City of Melbourne’s Late Night Programming and is one of those rare events that is destined to become one of 2012’s talking points. Forces (vocalist/producer, Alex Akers and percussionist/programmer, Thomas Henderson) have been winning over audiences in clubs around Melbourne and beyond with their minimal electronic and Goth-industrial dance sounds.
