So today WAS going well till my Rwing crazy "Q" following SIL sent me a bunch of crap "proving" that the meds the Pres recommended for COVID reeeaally worked AND that the same guy found that it cured aids/hiv and had been suppressed.......meaning my health issues and all of the friends and exes that died were part of a CONSPIRACY....
Something that all of her crazy has changed for both my brother and myself is how "safe" medical marijuana IS. Sandi's on it for some diseases that she's being treated for that she was diagnosed by spit. She went from being a Fluff-Bunny Newager to a Q anon nutjob that actually believes Democrat politicos feed babies to demons for power and the Prez is the Messiah.
I'm thinking in a way COVID's good for my brother since he now works from home and no longer sees her only 2-3 days a week.... as he has for the last 20 yrs. He can't ignore her "quirks" anymore.
One of the few Good Things if we move to DC is that we'll NEVER be in this situation again. There we can take public transport and get a place where we'd be stuck Dependent on their good will.

Today makes one month that I haven't needed to use the shower seat to wash. A couple of yrs ago it got too painful to stand for more than a couple minutes so we got a shower seat.
Last month I tried to "soldier on" since I was doing so much better since the surgery. Since I was no longer using the walker and was back to my old cane I decided to try.
I won't say it's been easy. Even today I was tempted to use it(I overdid it lifting the last dormant plant out of the shed...) but DIDN'T.
Little steps, little victories.
As a nice plus my md appt today was held by phone, so I didn't have to drive to FWB and sit in the waiting room of the county health dept....not the most healthy spot in an epidemic. Also, my labs were great! High normal t-cell count and my A1C was the lowest since I developed Diabetes. And that's with 4 Units less a day since the surgery....
Cheers,
Pat
PS: The reusable cloth masks I'd ordered in early March finally arrived as well;>

So, for the last couple of months the docs have been trying to figure out why Chuck's lower legs are x3 the size they're supposed to be. 1st his doc thought it was his heart and stopped some of his meds and sent him in for a shiteload of tests which all said "got the heart of a 50 yr old(he's 70;>)". So, then due to a poor lab after he had taken some hard on kidney meds to get the water off....it's got to be the kidneys.
So after AGAIN a shiteload of tests we got the results today. Not the kidneys. He DOES have 60% functioning and one kidney is smaller and scarred than the other but it's not something recent....probably an infection or injury in childhood.
So we know now that for a 70 yr old, his heart and kidneys are in decent shape. Just no reason why some days he looks like he's wearing Ugg boots.......
Cheers,
Pat

One thing we're all learning during our own individual disaster movies is that Entropy increases with increased occupation. In other words, more time indoors means that space gets messier faster. Add in that homes built after refrigeration have little true pantry space and you increase the mess and clutter.

Bit of an uneven week. The "up" bit was my md appt. Back looks great and I can resume normal activity. I'd been worried about back pain for the last couple of weeks but apparently it's a symptom of success; I'm using muscles I've not used in yrs and they're not real happy about it;>.....
The down was Chuck. He's down to 50% kidney function. It's not panic time since you can survive with 78% non-function but it's something to watch.
It was interesting how different two medical offices dealt with C-19. Mine? Temp and those who were within normal limits were passed on. Pieces of tape 6' from the receptionists and waiting rooms with 3 seats between each patient. Chuck's? Same as receptionist in mine except you were made to sit outside of the blding where the Smokers usually hang out until someone came to get you. There was an elderly couple who was there when we got there and was STILL waiting when we left...in shorts in 55 F weather in the shade....
Next week he goes in for an ultrasound of his kidneys...
Cheers,
Pat

I'm trying to get some "Normalcy", so I'm back to sharing my questionable taste with you all;>....
I'd seen the specials of 'MBB' on Youtube but the show itself has been pay for play until recently when Britbox put it up. Basically, a Working Class Mrs Doubtfire(man plays Mrs Brown) with her mostly stereotypical Irish brood and friends. What makes this show different than other comedies is that not only is the 4th Wall broken mult times an episode but it's filmed live; flubs and such are filmed and showed, as well as the cast reaction and the retake(s). One of my fav incidents was a phone going off mid scene and finding out one of the cameramen had left his phone on the set. Agnes picks it up, answers it and walks over to a particular cameraman and tells him its for him....
Just fluff and nonsense but nowadays it's what often you need.
Cheers,
Pat

With all the panic buying of paper products, I got off my butt and went looking for our napkins. When we 1st moved into this place, we inherited my Great Grandmother Duffy's Dining room set and Chuck went crazy with properly outfitting it. Placemats, napkins and runners(I put my foot down at Charger plates;>!) but a few yrs later we were back to paper towels.
The table looks better and there's less garbage as well!

Pat

Some of the panic buying items I can understand but some? Two that really get me are Milk and Eggs.
Both are very perishable. You can't stock up on them. It's not much more than a month before they go bad. Nut and grain milks last longer but even they require refrigeration. Plenty of Powdered Milk. I guess no one likes that krap;>!

Pat

Is "Heathen-oriented papers of a generally Tribalist/Folkish leaning " the title of said collections.
The last "heathen-oriented" piece I read was The Book of the Law, but that didn't read…
