While I consider myself bisexual, I lean more toward same-sex relations, and have been with my partner since 1986. In 2005, we got married in Toronto, Canada.
I live with severe chronic depression, PTSD, ADD and Bipolar Disorder, for which I am on Disability. In 2007, I underwent Bariatric surgery and have since lost 200 lbs.; I feel so much better for it, physically. That same year, I was also diagnosed with a pre-cancerous condition called Barrett's Esophagus. I struggle every day to control my mental illness and keep myself healthy in every way. I am not religious in any way, but I do consider myself very spiritual.
I am a member of Gilda's Club, a supporter of Same-Sex Marriage and Gay Rights, an advocate in the fight against AIDS, and the prevention of cruelty toward animals. I am very ecclectic in my tastes. I love to cook, especially for others. I tend to get very nervous in crowds, which is one reason why I prefer to spend most of my time at home. My home is very important to me, it is my sanctuary, and I enjoy periods of silence and solitude there where I can relax. Above all, I do not handle stress well.
