Just find someone with similar interests; if computers can do it, then why can't you? Just ask around, and see who's still single or almost single again Or recovering from a coma, or just let out of jail. Or visiting the country, or learning how to fail. And if you get your basic needs all met, then you can concentrate on what really matters Love is the problem that you can't ignore Love is the problem that you're looking for Just find someone who's fairly good looking, but not too good looking; you'll get used to it. Just ask around about friends of friends, about exes of exes of exes of yours Just find someone who can stand to be near you, who has similar needs; could that be so hard? And if you're lucky, all your time will disappear, and you'll never have to fear And if you're lucky, all your interests will dissolve in the life you'll have to solve And if you're lucky, all your cares will multiply as your years go tearing by Cause you found someone Love is the reason that you're fading fast Love is the answer to what you never asked

I Insist 03:37
In place of a soul, I’ve got tendency Got a leaning, I’ve got energy I push headlong into a tumbling whirl Of my own, of my own, well, I don’t know what I am driving, I am pressing the keys I am losing what’s left of my periphery I am forward essentially I am motion and force, and something too fast to see And my eyes focus out to a point and refract And I will pierce every door; nothing fails to react And I will overcome all the crap that I drag I am not asking the world, I am not asking the world I demand it, I insist If I must give a reason, well, consider this fist I demand it, I require You mistake what I make, and all the love I inspire In place of a soul, I've got irony In the space of a conscience a rock In this peace my belief is a 15-ton truck If I hold out my hand, you will shiver, will shiver I am driving, I am pressing it down If I fly at this speed, I will be sleeping around I am forward, I am all the way I'm a mistake of the future we'll all be some day Don’t be put out or fooled, or cover yourself in drool I’m a person, a person, and not a force of nature Don’t be one of those guys who puts feet in his mouth I am lonely and done, I won’t save you, won’t save you And my eyes focus out to a point and refract And retract and turn black and go back and attack And relax and distract and react and react and react…

Open a riverboat; stay away Take out a circus float; it's your day Market to everything in your way Fail to philosophize Maybe they'll think you're wise anyway Don't mind a few gone down, a few gone down Don't pay them attention; they'll think that you care And they'll never leave you alone Don’t mind them, just move on; just move on Gesture within to what you have sown Gesture without to what you will own Don't mind me shakin', as I shiver to the bone. Move on to better things Record what the movement brings, you're alone

about

In August 2023, all four members still living in Madison from the defunct acoustic ensemble "Mark Lint's Dry Folk" connected with a new drummer, keyboardist, and electric guitarist to form a massive sound machine: MANIFEST LINT.

As a warm-up exercise to getting out in the world to play shows and recording a full album of fresh original material, the group convened on March 8, 2024 for a live recording of three previously recorded Mark Lint originals plus a beloved Iris-featuring cover tune from the Dry Folk live set.

This serves as our demo and was recorded entirely live, apart from a couple of instrumental flubs that were fixed and some minor overdubbed harmonies.
