The Twin Cities and surrounding counties in the southeastern quarter of Minnesota are bracing for extreme heat on Monday. The National Weather Service says an excessive heat warning takes effect at 9 a.m. and lasts until midnight, FOX 9 reports. Via MinnPost

Dominion Voting Systems, which was later renamed Liberty Vote, has reached a settlement over defamation allegations against Mike Lindell and dropped its $1.3 billion lawsuit, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. Lindell, who is running for Minnesota governor as a Republican, had falsely claimed in 2021 that the company rigged the 2020 election in favor of Joe Biden. Via MinnPost

In a viral video post reported by FOX 9, residents in Shakopee appear to be harassing a Somali family who is in the area shopping for houses. A DFL lawmaker representing the area has defended the Somali family, and the couple in the video saying things like “nobody wants you here” and “all you do is steal” has issued a statement through an attorney calling the video a “cyberbullying campaign against an honest, patriotic, kind, and hard-working family.” Via MinnPost
