The review for Book 9, Dead and Gone does have an error but it is a real review by a reputable reviewer.
I'm thinking stepdaughter should maybe have been stepfather ..?
So, the line "The owner of Merlotte’s stepdaughter almost kills her mother" maybe should have read The "owner of Merlotte’s stepfather almost kills his mother " and we know this from Chapter One which was leaked by Charlaine, herself.
This is what Charlaine said about the mistake and the reviewer, Harriet Klausner.
The review is posted here from yesterday if you missed it.
I have been contacted by 3 people who have received reviewers copies of the book and we will be seeing more reviews soon. I'm sure many, many more details from the book will begin leaking out ...and what I've heard is great !!!
We do now know from the review that Crystal gets killed, Sookie is almost kidnapped and has a romance ...

True Blood / Living Dead in Dallas more on Isabel and Hugo
by Dallas

Hugo's betrayl of Isabel and of the Dallas vamps to FotS is not a pretty tail and does not end well for either of them ...
Book 2
"At the time, I thought if Stan Davis wanted to live on Green Valley Road, or in the Hundred-Acre Wood, that was his right as an American. So I defended him against the neighborhood association, and I won. I was real proud of myself. Then I got to know Isabel, and I took her to bed one night, feeling real daring, really the big man, the emancipated thinker."
I stared at him, not blinking or saying a word.
"As you know, the sex is great, the best. I was in thrall to her, couldn't get enough. My practice suffered.
I started seeing clients only in the afternoon, because I couldn't get up in the morning. I couldn't make my court dates in the morning. I couldn't leave Isabel after dark."
This sounded like an alcoholic's tale,to me. Hugo had become addicted to vampiric sex. I found the concept fascinating and repellent.
When we last see Isabel she is not so lovely
Except for the dark blue wall-to-wall, the room was bare. Isabel was chained to the wall on one side of the room—with silver, of course. Hugo was on the other. He was chained, too. They were both awake, and they both looked at the doorway, naturally.
Isabel nodded as if we'd met in the mall, though she was naked. I saw that her wrists and ankles were padded to prevent the silver from burning her, though the chains would still keep her weak.
Hugo was naked, too. He could not take his eyes off Isabel. He barely glanced at me to see who I was Stan said, "She cannot feed off him, though she is hungry. He cannot have sex with her, though he is addicted. This is their punishment, for months.
then finally and chillingly
Stan shrugged. "Three or four months. We will feed Hugo, of course. Not Isabel."
"And then?"
"We'll unchain him first. He will get a day's head start."

This interesting article has an even more interesting footnote
Several readers have been asking about Batanya and Clovache, two Britlingens -- Xena-style women warriors from an alternate dimension -- who popped up in Harris' last Sookie Stackhouse novel, All Together Dead, which should just be coming out in paperback. (It seems the vampire monarchs hire these formidable creatures as bodyguards and general muscle, although how the two sides originally made contact is still up in the air.)
Harris said a novella starring the Britlingens is in the works.
Charlaine also mentioned this in the Arkansas Education Television interview last week
Mystery writer finds progress in Fantasy Tales
http://www.starnewsonline.com/
Charlaine Harris was pushing 50 as the new millennium dawned and felt she was stuck in a rut.
After nearly two decades, she'd published 12 books and earned an Agatha nomination for one of her mystery novels about Aurora Teagarden, a crime-fighting Georgia librarian. Still, she was pigeonholed as what booksellers call a "mid-list writer" - nice but unspectacular sales, no movie deals, virtual anonymity and absolutely no danger of being audited by the IRS.
"I wanted to progress," Harris said, in a phone call from her Arkansas home, "and I wasn't getting any younger."
Then she started playing around with a fantasy story, but one stuck firmly in a mundane world. What if vampires popped up around us - still a little exotic but as commonplace as, say, Democrats, bikers or Goth kids with tattoos and piercings?
The result was her 2001 novel Dead Until Dark, the first volume in her "Southern Vampire" series. The primary setting is Bon Temps, a small town in northern Louisiana. It's sort of a Cajun version of Mayberry, except that the folks in the trailer parks are likely as not to be werewolves (or werepanthers, or werebears or true shapeshifters, who can turn into just about anything).
Oh, and the vampires are out of the closet, er, coffin. At least after sundown.
In Harris' alternate universe, the Japanese invented a synthetic blood substitute that even comes in handy pop-top cans at the local convenience store. No longer forced to be feared and hunted predators, the vampire-American community has mostly gone public.
Ending several months of speculation, The Paley Center for Media has today announced the full lineup for PaleyFest09, the 26th Annual William S. Paley Television Festival.
Among the honorees this year are the casts and creators of 90210, Battlestar Galactica and Caprica, The Big Bang Theory, Big Love, Desperate Housewives, Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, Fringe, The Hills, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Mentalist, Swingtown, and True Blood.
PaleyFest09 will be held from April 10th to April 23rd at the Cinerama Dome at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood; the Paley Center will also present a special closing night presentation honoring Swingtown at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills on April 24.
