Listing of New York Senators on the Fence or Opposed to Gay Marriage
20 senators publicly stated their support for equal marriage, 32 are needed to pass the bill. Please check this list and contact your state senator and urge them to support marriage equality for all couples.

Marriage is a civil rights issue, nobody should be denied the 1,800 state and federal benefits that come with marriage, such as the right to visit a loved one in a hospital, file joint tax returns, co-adopt kids, and many other rights and privileges enjoyed by heterosexual couples.

Ello/LYC Dallas
Hi all.
Does anyone know if the Dallas chapter of the LYC is still active? I tried to send an email to the address listed on the website but I got this in reponse:

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

lyc_dfw_tx@hotmail.com

Technical details of permanent failure:
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 9): 550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable

If this means it's no longer active, does anyone have any experience with the Dragonflies Dallas group?

Thanks for your replies.

Your views welcome Beyond the Ghetto - Radiogay.ca
Are you Beyond the Ghetto? - what this means is, are you living in a gay community outside of North America, beyond the influence or custom of the North American "Stonewallian" version of the vibrant gay village.Perhaps you are in a central vibrant gay village in your own country but you do things just a bit, or a lot, different from North America there. OR Maybe you are out in a country where the concept of gay community is very new and pride parades are few and far between but starting to take hold. Perhaps you are a courageous brother or sister who is in such a region that you still, even in this day and age, risk your liberty and life if you are openly gay or lesbian. Or you could be the one on a mountaintop with an internet connection wondering if there is anyone like you within 1000 kilometers of your home? Whoever you are, we at radiogay's Beyond the Ghetto show want to hear from you and put your story on the internet "waves". We can: read your email story on the air - keep it under 1000 words (two pages) please OR "skype" you (see www.skype.com) or call your phone (using skype) and tape your words OR you can send us a short clip - maximum 1 min of your life BEYOND THE GHETTO on radiogay.ca. Contact beyondtheghetto@shaw.ca and tell us where you are BEYOND THE GHETTO on radiogay.ca.

Poems about learning how to speak English
Hello!

I desperately need everyone's help! I was wondering if anyone knew of any poems about learning how to speak English. Not one of those children's poems, rather a poem written from the adult perspective of a person who is trying to learn this new language. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello Long Yang Club!
Hi everyone!

I just wanted to say hello to yet another LJ community that I find interesting and want to get to know a little bit more about. I am from California and enjoy the sun and surf in this wonderful state. Recent elections in the US have gotten me down a little bit of course, but California did its electoral job.

iCon 2004
Is anyone going to this year's iCon in Bangkok in Thailand? I hear they're a lot of fun. (I was even approached to put in a bid for one in San Diego someday!)

San Diego Pride
The San Diego chapter had a great booth at the LGBT Pride Festival this past weekend. It was decorated with the flags of almost all the Asian nations, rainbow paper lanterns, and Chinese dragons, and we had an electronic picture frame that showed pictures from many of our past events. We handed out candy in lucky red envelopes and flyers about the club, put temporary tattoos of Chinese characters on people, and got over 150 people to sign up for our e-mail list. It was really great, and we're stoked for another great year! :)

If anybody needs advice on planning a booth, we'd be happy to share our experiences with anyone who is interested.
