I've gushed about my love for Gotchard a lot on this journal, and elsewhere, but I will keep doing it! This is a show that means a lot to me, and I feel it has a lot of good aspects to it:
A cast of lovable characters!
Themes about the power of friendship, youth, changing the future, and how things can only change by moving forward!
Like every Kamen Rider I've seen, It has a banger soundtrack.
If you like Pokemon, the chemies are a bunch of delightful little guys! Watching this show as it aired made me feel like discovering Pokemon as a kid again.
The alchemist setting has a lot of fic potential for those who are into that.
And more! I've went on about this show at length, so you can find more reasons as to why I love this show on here. I also made a spoiler-free primer that is also a bit of a promo too and will share more reasons as to why I love Gotchard and think it is worth checking out. It is not a perfect show (and what is?) but I believe it has a lot of good qualities, and deserves a better reputation than what the wider english speaking toku fandom gives it right now.
I've written a ton of fics for it, drawn a lot of fanart, also wrote metas, made icons for each episode (found atchemyxstory) and plan to make more, and I want to get into giffing it too. Gotchard really can inspire so much creativity in a person!
I want to start working on my Gotchard webshrine sometime soon too. Which is where I will put more of my gushing alongside other various things on there. :D
To me this show was an utter delight to watch live, and is has also been very fun to revisit and show to friends. (And rewatch on my own too!) I hope more people give it a fair chance because I believe there is a lot of good there, even more than what I've described here.
