pod_aware's Podfic Awareness Week, but some family stuff has left me feeling incapable.
There's lots to celebrate, and my huge collection of podslash is one of things I'm doing to dig myself out, so ♥ for everyone involved.

Nov. 1st, 2011 05:35 pmI'm going to be de-friending a bunch of people from livejournal, in favour of following you on Dreamwidth. For anyone who wants to move to DW, I still have some codes, so just ask.
I freaking love the Archive of Our Own. Sometimes I feel like just grabbing fen on kinkmemes and raving to them that they could be posting their stories on the AO3! And then I could read them easily! And wouldn't that be wonderful!
And shockingly enough, a variation on this grabbing/raving plan seems to have worked. :D I sent two messages to people who I've never actually interacted with. Low pressure offers of invitations to the AO3, so they could repost their kinkmeme stories there if they wished, and holy crap, it worked. Sweet!
Fandom is so lovely sometimes.
So, while I'm raving about AO3, here's some of my favourite things about it, that you might not know:

twitter and pinboard
Oct. 21st, 2011 11:07 pmI'm continuing to drag myself out of lurkerdom. I have a twitter account, if that's your kind of thing: @_linbot. I mainly use it for various slashy ridiculousness that comes to mind and pinging @coruscera about her writing. :D
She and I have been exchanging slash links for ages. Well, I say "exchanging" but really it's mostly me reccing things and her reading them. We did have a delicious account as sparkly_unicorns, but that collapsed in an annoying heap and I was quite glad to jump ship to Pinboard. Our links are now at: http://pinboard.in/u:sparkly_unicorns
The Sparkly Unicorns nickname came out of a chat conversation where I pointed out that we were making constant apologies for not being sufficiently cool. And it's a very hard habit to get out of.
We each firmly believe ourselves to be dun horses, but in fact we are sparkling unicorns made of wonderful words and feelings. ♥
