Since this looks to be a benchmark year for us, what with my husband retiring and our planning to move to "the country", I've decided to start a new blog. I've been retired from the local hospital for over a year now and my husband will retire from 34 years as a chemical engineer on June 1st. It's an exciting time that we've been looking forward to for several years, but I wouldn't be honest if I didn't admit to a little trepidation. We will soon see how well we can really live on what we've put back instead of having a regular paycheck. We plan to sell our little house here on the desert prairie (West Texas-"it's not the middle of nowhere, but you can see it from here") and move out to the north Texas hillcountry where there are trees and wildflowers, and where it actually rains. I hope my ramblings will be interesting to others, but if not, it's all good. Mostly, it will be a way for me to chronicle our new adventure-more to come!
