If you are unsure whether your language is valid to be hosted here or have its own subdomain, you can ask here for advice.

- Be sure you have a user account here at Incubator.
- How to request? Just say which language and which project (Wikipedia, Wiktionary, ...) and give a link to a Wikipedia article or another webpage with some information.
- We need this to know the ISO 639 language code. If you already know the language code, please provide it.
- If that language doesn't already have an existing wiki in another Wikimedia project, please provide a translation for the phrase "Main Page" in that language.
- Add a new request
- And then? Someone will say whether you are allowed to start a test, and if so, he will give a link where you need to start your test.
- People who are either administrators and/or familiar with Incubator/LangCom policies may handle requests.

Request for creation of Náhuat Wiktionary (ppl) in Wikimedia Incubator
[edit source]I am writing to formally request the opening and setup of the Náhuat Wiktionary (ISO 639-3: ppl). Our community has recently and successfully graduated from the Wikimedia Incubator with the launch of the Náhuat Wikipedia (ppl.wikipedia.org). We are now ready to expand our digital ecosystem by developing a comprehensive lexicographical database.
We have a crucial community field trip and workshop scheduled for this Saturday, June 27, 2026. One of our main goals for this event is to inaugurate our lexicographical work, starting with Lingua Libre audio recordings and documenting the voices and vocabulary of our community's oldest elders. Our ultimate milestone is to build a structured dictionary of approximately 6,500 words.
We understand that the final approval for a new subdomain (ppl.wiktionary.org) is a rigorous process that takes time. However, to ensure we can successfully hold our workshop and start editing this weekend, we kindly request your technical support to expedite the creation of the Náhuat Wiktionary test project within the Wikimedia Incubator.
Having this incubator space ready by June 27 will allow our students and fluent speakers to begin entering data and contributing directly from day one.

Similar to the Simple English Wikipedia, I'd like to propose a Simple Japanese Wikipedia. This Wikipedia would serve to help those learning Japanese as a second language, children, and adults with learning disabilities. It could use Easy Japanese as a model for the language, similar to the Simple English Wikipedia, which uses Basic English. It could also use the JLPT as a guide, likely targeting the N3 proficiency level.
Given that the main Japanese Wikipedia ranks sixth for the most active contributors, with 1,507,170 articles at the time of writing, there is sufficient interest in the language to justify a Simple version.
