| Master Bedroom Tasks Catch up day. Try to do some of those tasks you weren't able to get to or finish during the week.
Holiday Prep Tasks Shopping Day Get out and do your shopping. Lots of work when you get home. Wrap those gifts, label, and put them away. Put the shipping items with the gifts or in another safe place. Put away the new linens and extra food where they belong. If you bought anything for organization for your bedroom, get back in there and fill the baskets and bins. | |

| Master Bedroom TasksCloset Day- I know, just one day?? Do your best. Be ruthless. Get rid of things you haven't worn for a year, things that don't flatter you, things you hate. Get rid of stuff in the top of you closet you didn't even remember putting there three years ago and haven't seen since. Get rid of shoes you bought before you got pregnant when your feet were a different size. If you need to purchase items like plastic boxes, garment bags, new hangers, etc., add those to your list. Holiday Prep Tasks
- Make a double batch of your freezer meal, one for tonight and one for the freezer.
- Work one hour on homemade gifts.

| Master Bedroom TasksDump your drawers day. ONE AT A TIME! dump out each drawer on your bed. You don't have all day, so make decisions as quickly as you can. Be sure to have containers nearby for what goes to trash, yardsale, donation, other rooms, storage, etc. Keep only what you like and use and only what belongs in your bedroom. Include your jewelry box and other similar containers in the decluttering process. If you need to purchase drawer dividers or other organizational helps, add those things to your list. If you don't get all of your drawers done this week, you can always come back to them later or at odd times while you're waiting for something else. Sometimes I'll declutter a drawer while I'm waiting for a computer program to install, for example. Holiday Prep Tasks
- Catch up day. Are there any lists you've fallen behind on making? Do have a better idea of your budget now? Any new ideas for gifts? Need to track down any addresses for your card list? Make phone calls to check dates? Try to take care of some of those things today.
- Work one hour on homemade gifts.

| Master Bedroom TasksBed day. You're going to strip your bed, launder everything, and remake the bed. If you change from plain cotton to flannel and haven't done it yet, or change blankets or spreads for winter, this might be a good day to do that. Get everything out from under your bed. Vacuum, move the bed to sweep, whatever you need to do. If you need to purchase underbed storage containers, add those to your list. Replace only those items that really need to live there. Holiday Prep Tasks
- Make one batch of Holiday Goodies.
- Work 1 hour on homemade gifts.

| Master Bedroom TasksTake down the draperies and launder. While the windows are bare, wash windows, sills, frames. Clean blinds. Take everything off the walls, wipe down the walls, doors, doorframes. Clean everything before putting it back on the walls. Note: If you don't have time for this serious cleaning, consider just wiping anything that looks dirty and going over walls and tops of windows and doors with a feather duster. Holiday Prep Tasks

| Master Bedroom Tasks
- Sweep for cobwebs, clean light fixtures and replace bulbs. Clean vents.
- Clear off all the flat surfaces in the room, tops of nightstands, dressers, chests, chairs, tables, desks... Keep only what you need and looks decent. If you need some attractive baskets of dishes to contain small items, add them to your shopping list.
Holiday Prep Tasks
- Work on your shopping list. Add those table and bathroom linens that need replacing to your long-term list as well as a few thing to pick up onto this week's list. Add this week's canned food items to this week's list. Decide on cookie and freezer meal recipes for this week or next week (depending on where you shopping and cooking days fall in relation to my posts) and add ingredients you'll need to this week's (or next week's) list. Add the gifts you plan to buy this week to your list along with any wrapping or mailing supplies you'll need to pick up. While you're at it, make sure you have a place--a file folder, large envelope, whatever--to keep those receipts for gifts.
- Work one hour on homemade gifts.

| Welcome to Week 4 of the HGP. This is Master bedroom week. I want to start off by encouraging you to jump in and work on this. Sometimes we want to skip our own bedroom because (we think) no one sees it. We want to put our energies into the more public areas of our homes. And that makes sense as far as it goes. But since I started really working on decluttering my bedroom, it's become one of the easiest areas in my home to take care of, and even when other rooms start to become chaotic, the master bedroom usually manages to remain a haven. It didn't happen overnight, but I found getting this area under control very rewarding. Tasks included in the Deep Cleaning of the Master Bedroom include:
- Sweep for cobwebs, clean light fixtures and replace bulbs. Clean vents.
- Take down the draperies or curtains and launder them before rehanging.
- Wash the windows, clean frames and sills, clean the blinds.
- Take everything off the walls, wipe down the walls, door, doorknobs, etc. Clean everything before returning to the wall, including any mirrors.
- Strip your bed, launder everything, remake. Do you need a new mattress pad? Pillows? Linens? Add to your list.
- Clean under your bed. If you need to purchase boxes for underbed storage, add that to your list.
- Clear off all the flat surfaces in the room: tops of nightstands, dressers or chests; chairs, blanket chests, or similar furnishings where things tend to pile up.
- Dump each drawer one at a time, and decide what to keep and what to let go. Replace only what you use and like. Keep containers handy for trash, donations, yard sales, things that belong in other rooms, things that will go to storage, etc.
- Work on the closet. Let go of clothing that doesn't fit, that you never wear, that you don't even like. If you need new hangers, garment bags, plastic boxes, or other organizational containers, add those to your list.
- Polish furniture.</i>
What you're not able to accomplish now, make a note of. Add things to your shopping list if you'll be able to afford them or you want list if you won't. What you don't have time to do this week, make a note on your calendar to take care of it at another time so it isn't forgotten. Holiday Prep:
- Make one batch of Holiday Goodies.
- Make one extra meal for the freezer and label Holiday Meal.
- Buy 2 canned food items from your list (4 if you're donating to a food drive)
- Buy 1/8 of your holiday gifts. Note the return policy before buying and save your receipts.
- Wrap and label your packages. If you'll need to ship items, get shipping boxes now. (Remember that USPS can deliver some mailing supplies to you for free. Check their website.
- Work at least one hour per day on your homemade gifts.
- Make a list of any table and bathroom linens that need replacing and add to your long-term shopping list. Pick up a few items each week.
