I haven't actually seen Children of Earth, but I've read all about it. I might watch it - might not. And the reason I might not has made me realise something.

Our old cat, Sooty, died today. She'd been ill for some time, although the vet reassured us that she was not suffering or in distress, we were warned that she could go at any time, and when she did go, it would probably be sudden. Which it seems to have been - she was fine in the morning, and we found her later in the day, dead in the garden, laid out in a very awkward pose, the way she used to lie when sleeping. Here's a picture of her from last years. She was around 18 years (rescue cat, so not quite sure), which is quite old in cat years. Sad that she's gone - she was always my favourite and I hers - but glad that it was quick and without distress.
R.I.P. Sooty - a very fine cat.

Prompted by
donutsweeper mentioning, apropos #amazonfail #glitchmyass, that here had been some funny goings on at amazon.co.uk in the small hours, which had rectified itself before many UK users were aware of it.

OK, anyone been watching Whitechapel? Look, I know Rupert Penry-Jones is like phwoarrr!, but you know things have got out of hand when even the Guardian tv reviewer has her slash goggles on.
From today's G2 (oddly not online anywhere) "As the big hand stretches toward Fate O'Clock, Di Chandler (Penry Jones) and DS Miles (Phil Davies) are gasping in a fog bank of procedural guilt. "We;ve let everyone down," gulps Miles, trembling in his superior's long, sensitive arms......."

I can haz fic. And artwork.
Go see.
And if you feel so led, leave a few comments on the other fics. I don't think as many people have been reading this set as have done for previous ones.
